Re: Simple setup for Church Stake Center

Scotty for the late update, before I was given a chance our stake president went down to guitar center and picked a Labor Day special. So far he is happy with the setup so less work for me. From what I understand he had been DJing. Dances. Have not spoken to any of the leaders, but they would not kn...

Re: Simple setup for Church Stake Center

What's a Stake Center? Thanks for the quick reply, Our church is organized with branches, and wards that meet in smaller Chapels and usually have a half-court basketball in them for the youth and ward activities. 6-9 wards make up a Stake. So the Stake Center is usually a larger Chapel where multip...

Simple setup for Church Stake Center

Hello everyone, It has been a while since I have posted a question. Good to see people are still building Bill's designs. I has been in storage since Covid. I was asked by my Stake Pres to help him come up with a sound system for our Stake. It will be mainly used in a Gym (full court, no Stands on s...

Re: Outdoor patio area speakers

Thanks for the reply Grant. I was leaning to the 8” to hopefully get as low possible. I will start out with a pair and see how they sound this summer. Since I already have the amp. I purchased 2 on clearance for $69 for an RV Project a few years ago.

Outdoor patio area speakers

Hello guys, looking for advise for speakers for my outdoor patio area. I have a 14 x 18 free standing patio that is 12’ high. I am planning on using this as a source for sound. https://www.polyplanar.com/product/mrd70-component-stereo-system-clearance-item/ My question is to build 4 SLA’s or use one...

Re: Upgrading AVR or so I thought

My wife was grumpy to when i told her there would be 9driver tlah's on the wall and a total of 9 speakers in the living room. Once installed she never complained again. She's even asking for more speakers in the kitchen 😂 I wish I could send her on vacation and just get r done. Better to ask for fo...

Re: Upgrading AVR or so I thought

You might not need the nine driver SLA. I only use six myself. When things get cranking there's a lot more content in the L/R channels than in the center, so fewer drivers in the SLA generally isn't a problem. However, you need to get the L/R up on the walls, unless your listening position is lying...

Re: Upgrading AVR or so I thought

Now I need to convince the wife to build a LPTHT If she doesn't agree, just get the tools and do it yourself. A wife who builds THTLP's is worth keeping. 😁 Too funny Chris. I thought the same thing. That is why I love this forum :noob: I am hoping I can convince my wife to allow ME to bu...

Re: Upgrading AVR or so I thought

Thanks Seth, that is what I though I was getting. LOL I did go thru the manual and found on page 184 a scale setting and limit setting that I was able to change to -78 to +18 and turned off the limit. So problem should be solved. Now I need to convince the wife to build a LPTHT

Upgrading AVR or so I thought

<t>I have had denon AVR’s for over 15 years. Started out with an AVR-1601 60 watts per channel. Then I upgraded to a AVR-991 125 watts per channel. Wanting more control over video and more outputs for TV and projector I decided to once again upgrade. This time to the AVR-X6500H 140 watts per channel...

Re: Any hope for use in BF design

Thank you all for the replies. I think I will follow Grants advice and build similar boxes.

One more question, since I have 4 woofers could I add a woofer per box or would the xover need to be changed?

Thanks again

Any hope for use in BF design

Re: Need help with Ground loop Humm

Sorry for the late reply. I have not had time to log on to site in a while. 1 I have not tried to remove power from phone and see if humm persist. 2 Phone has its own power plug. 3 Phone was opened up and speaker wires are being used as output to the amp. Phone does not have output jack. Still livin...
