Hennessey Sound?

Anybody seen these things? Either Bill gave this guy a license or he modified something to get around Bills designs. But damn they look similar

Re: Finishing cabs

Because that's life. Not everything can be "ideal", as corner placement, boundary placement, etc. We have to roll the way we can.

Re: Finishing cabs

Here's a few pics of different angles with Vortex. Don't mind the "pinkish" color, that was from some uplighting we had on the walls in the area... FYI, if any of you are Packer fans, this wedding was actually at Lambeau Field. Two of 12 are built and finished, 2 more will be sprayed this ...

Re: Finishing cabs

On latest builds, been using the new filler putty from Elmer's. Pro grade. Hardens in about 15 minutes. Sands real well. Very well. When done, the sanded portion looks just like wood and is hard as the wood. First two cabinets have been sprayed professionally with Vortex. Hard shell but not slippery...

Re: Has anyone actually used Okoume plywood?

Used it on first trial T30, with good success. 9 ply was what I used, about the same cost as birch, but much lighter and easier to handle. Wound up not being able to get more, so I used what I had in the same locations of the future Tuba's. Don' remember which parts, but they were all the same. The ...

Re: Northern Sound and Light

Been buying from them for a while on big ticket items... always been satisfied. The only thing you need to be cautious of is whether the item is "special" order or not. If special order it clearly states that the item is not returnable. I do miss my old sales rep though, he was great! That...

Yea, been buying from them for a couple years, anytime I need something of cost. The other thing they do which is cool, every so often they'll send you an email with a "free shipping" coupon if you buy over $199 or something like that. Usually has a 30 day time frame, but a nice perk. My l...

You can do TCH at 54" or 72". If I recall from the last orders, something along the lines of $4.00/ft and $8.00/ft, respectively. I think PE might be higher than that...

It's just designed for 2 poles, instead of 1, that's all... Put your "input" to the 2 center tabs... then whichever output you want, put that on the 2 tabs at one end of the switch... the other output on the 2 tabs at the other end. You could also use this as two 1 pole switches, both at t...

I just completed a whole bunch of new racks, so this answer is fresh in my head... Cut the carpet to outside dimensions plus about 2 inches. Put the seam on the bottom of the cab and wrap "around" the outside. Make sure when you cut the carpet width/depth, it is enough to wrap inside of th...

Wanted to mention what we have been doing with our T30S builds and Duratex. We are carpeting the cabs, to match our DJ booth and such we are currently upgrading. This is done to match everything in the systems, tour cases, etc... but what we have done is actually use Duratex (1-2 coats) on the finis...

Like Mr. Gavin above, even after being very anal about drilling through both sides clamped together in the very first step... I still find that the slight horn panel drifts can make a difference when using 1/2" internal horn plates, by the time you get to the final side panel of the cab. Answer...

Steve... I used Okoume on the very first Tuba Slim prototype (i.e. handle placement, top hats, hardware, etc...) I built. It was lighter... but also a little trickier to work with. Ultimately, I wound up using cabinet grade birch due to availability, and I am planning on building 8 Tuba 30 slims. Di...

Yep... do the same stuff here... vote of confidence... 1) Use the mineral spirits thing (w/ a black rag - - important!) to rub over the seams of the carpeting. Gets the overspray off and makes the seam harder to see. 2) Instead of using black spray under the carpeting, I actually put a rolled on coa...
