Re: Can I couple two Auto Tubas?
I am located in Flagler Beach, Florida. It's on the northeast coast of the state. I already ordered the drivers (the Dayton DCS 255-4's) but the time savings would be nice. Can you give any details about the sizes. They would have to be the tall versions in order to fit on each side of the hump on t...

Re: Can I couple two Auto Tubas?
Thanks for the advice. It was my plan that laying a shelf across the tops of the subs would give me some nice storage space behind the front seats. Time to make some sawdust!

Can I couple two Auto Tubas?
To make a short story long, I recently acquired a new work truck. Since I spend more time in my work than my personal truck, I want to upgrade the sound system. My personal truck is a small regular cab Toyota Tacoma. Due to size limitations, my only option was to build the Truck Tuba with the smalle...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
Unfortunately our Denon does not have preamp outs on the surround channels. Our plan is to first see if our "90,000 milliwatts per channel" would be enough to power the Top 12's. If not (as I suspect), we need to look at different equipment. There goes my budget again!

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
When I did the movies inside, I used a Denon receiver wired directly to the five output speakers. My speakers are homemade horns using Fostex drivers. There are very efficient and produced more that enough volume for our indoor room. My opinion about Fostex drivers is that they are hard to beat for ...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
I have a SACD copy of “Dark Side of the Moon” which we played on our indoor surround sound system. The room is approximately 25’ by 85’ with a ten-foot ceiling. The comments I received from different people were quite interesting. One guy insisted that it was a 7.1 surround recording and wanted to k...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
Our Movies in the Park program is cosponsored by our local school district. This enables us to show movies under their lincense. Still there are certain movies that we are not permitted to show.

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
We are not 100 % sure about how we will mount the screen. Our current idea is to build a frame out of metal conduit. We would design it so that it could be dismantled and loaded onto the trailer for transportation. The frame would slide into metal sleeves which would be welded to the trailer frame. ...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
Thank you to everyone who is willing to share suggestions and ideas. It has really helped me in the initial planning of this project. I will be sure to keep you all posted as we move along with the construction. Also, thank you Mr. Fitzmaurice for creating this forum. I am relieved to know that I am...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
“Movie in the Park” is a great community event. The movies are free and everyone is welcome to bring a blanket or lawn chair to enjoy the movie. Currently we project the image on the side of a two-story building. This makes for a large picture size. Our trailer is twenty feet long. We are planning t...

Re: Outdoor Surround Sound System
Thanks for the responses! The trailer is an old boat trailer that sits very low to the ground. The completed subwoofers will only be about 2 feet off of the ground. If necessary, we could even add a removable piece of plywood that would couple the subs to the ground. Once again, the subs will be per...

Outdoor Surround Sound System
This is my first post on the forum as I am seeking advice for a crazy idea that we are contemplating. I currently host a free “Music in the Park” series for my city. We project the video image on the side of a building and use a budget PA system for the sound. We usually attract a crowd of 200 to 30...
