Re: Making a pair of TAT....

In you're driving the car amp straight from MiniDSP, keep in mind the output is only 1v but the car amp will want 3~5v input... so you'll have to crank the gain right up
Same sort of thing when running a phone direct in to car amp, much lower level than what it's designed for

Re: Making a pair of TAT....

Shame about the disappointing first result... Have you checked what voltage the amp is putting out, and tested it with other subs? Double check your input signal and amp settings, and also test indoors with same settings. I'll stick with previous advice that you need >60hz (or even >80hz) and attemp...

Re: I need a good handheld tone generator

To add to this, depending what phone you use they can run a USB audio interface with the right cable (USB-OTG for Android or Camera Connection Kit for Apple)
That does take a bit of research and playing around but can expand the usage

Re: I need a good handheld tone generator

Another vote for a cheap phone... I have a few that I keep around, for use as music playback on a portable bluetooth speaker or a tone generator in the workshop.
They're cheaper and more readily available than other dedicated options!

I'm not sure Google will let you embed pics drectly from Photos, but one thing to double check is if you're using the shareable URL...
otherwise, Tinypic is a handy site for sharing (but not storing) online

Do the speakers fit properly on the cargo rack?

Been looking at Pure Groove systems, for the colour inspiration?

Re: 12v Ceremony System

What amp is it? Ideally if using a car amp you'd want it to be a Class-D model. These are much more efficient, which is important when using batteries. On the batteries, look at SLA cells used in alarm/fire systems and power backup, a car battery is no good for stand alone use. The amps inbuilt cros...

Tuff Cab from Blue Aran in the UK. Similar to Duratex, which can be rolled on.

Reeaaallllly curious about this build now. I have a Yuba Mundo that can take reasonably sized boxes, though the AT/TAT might be pushing limits. Looking for cheap drivers to play around with now  2 points to note, that work in your favour - the measured response *on the front page* is in-car wi...

Re: Can you Bi-Amp with a Lepai

Doubt there'd be any performance advantage running CDs on their own channel unless you have a DSP crossover... also what crossover does the amp have? Many of those cheaper models have a basic 12db/oct low pass on sub, and full range on mains. That'd be useless for your purpose. If anything, get a sm...

Re: Headphone jack signal level:

I used to keep a UCA202 in my bag when attending warehouse/free parties, as inevitably someone would want to plug their laptop headphone out direct to mixer then crank the channel gain... which generally sounds ordinary. Universal usb driver means no install, just plug and play. Stronger output than...
