Re: My week at The Dorset Steam Fair with an LS9 and some EA

I have not used the LS9 but I have the soundcraft si and use the presonus boards regularly. The soundcraft has all the features you mentioned above as well. And I have found that the soundcraft Is the most intuitive setup I have used. I had a sound guy who had never used one before, running through ...

Re: Let's see your SLA's

I've said it before, but... Why does everyone ruin their beautiful woodwork with screws through the baffle? There have to be more elegant solutions! What about these Ikea fixings ? I think those are where the removable grill attaches, not screws. They are rare earth magnets for the grills. I almost...

T39 Dr250 review. Three Island mini tour, and music festival

Hey all, I just provided/ran sound for a great band, Tapwater (http://www.tapwatermusic.com) for three days on three different islands. One of the guys in the band runs a pro sound company and their sound tech is a full time audio engineer. All the musicians are pros. Super easy to work with and ver...

Re: Another track saw option

Mere details my good man! Check out 80/20 on eBay. Extruded aluminum and some interesting sheet goods like poly-ethylene and such. Off cuts, mis- mills, and end of runs can be had pretty cheap. Great for making jigs and the like. I built a new table saw fence recently. I will try to post some pictur...

Re: Another track saw option

I was blessed enough to marry the daughter of a woodworking musician. My wife's motto is you can never have enough tools or instruments! :hyper: The grizzly track saw just made the top of my up coming b-day list. I know it wont be a festool, but they are still awesome. Aside from speaker stuff, we u...

Re: Instrument Mics

No doubt. But if you do some searching, the Shure copies being marketed as the real thing are made as complete ripoffs. They don't work hardly at all, in my understanding. They are solely made to rip people off instead of a cheaper product standing on its own merits, whatever they might be. I must s...

Beware the Chinese Shure knockoffs. On ebay or elsewhere.

Re: Instrument Mics

I was hesitant to buy cheap mics, but these perform well. I think you'll be happy with them. @ grant: If you are referring to my posts, fast typing on an iphone. My apologies. It seems, though, that you are referring maybe to my website? It needs a lot of work still and yes I am aware that it has no...

Re: Instrument Mics

I use the gls audio es57. There have bee several occasions where I had a sm57 on something and switched it out because the es57 sounds a good deal better. A little more open pickup pattern from my experience, but not in a bad way. I love it for acoustic instruments. $85 for a three pack and their mi...

Re: Crown XLS/Peavey IPR users

As I recall, you cant run a HPF and a LPF on a channel at the same. You need to step up to the Crown XTI for that. It has been awhile since I looked into them, BUt that is what I remember. Look up the manuals and see what they say.

Re: sm58 or beta 58?

I dont know where peavey is at over there, but the PVM 22 and PVM 46 are pretty fantastic. I have been surprised by the Peavey mics. I did not expect them to perform as well as they have for me. I tried them because I am a dealer for them, but they stay in my mic case with Shure, Ev, Etc because the...

A jack 10 lite would come in 8 lbs lighter than the pj. Breifcase not sure what your options are for battery powered amps though
