Re: Pro-Audio Amplifier for HT Application
Take a read on this page from Rane http://www.rane.com/note110.html and you might find a solution. I have already done everything possible and it is definitely the amp itself producing the noise. I have tried with and without a power conditioner. I have tried removing the inputs and also tried bala...

Pro-Audio Amplifier for HT Application
I was planning on using the pre-amp outputs of my Yamaha RX-V667 receiver to connect three Crown XTi 1000 amplifiers to my home theater speakers. However, after much investigation and elimination, it appears that the Crown XTi amplifiers produce a hissing (white noise) sound that is audible at low v...

DO NOT USE MDF, MDO, or ANYTHING other than good quality plywood, with at least 5 equal plys. MDF and MDO are composite material that will not hold up to the the strains of load cycles, and they are heavy as hell. Follow the directions. Follow the directions. Follow the directions. Ok after reading the plans and speaking with my father, I have a few more questions. First off, my father knows everything about wood and recommended using MDO board. Would this MDO board be a good choice? Also, I noticed you showed a diagram for wiring a passive crossover, but what if I want these ...

I'm still really confused. I thought the only thing being wired is the driver. There is no other resistive component in the sub, correct? So if the sub is rated at 4 Ohms, shouldn't I look at how much power the amp outputs at 4 Ohms per channel? I don't see how the horn is affecting the electrical c...

And when space is limited and i'm playing in a big banquet hall or gymnasium, it seems more power is more valuable than deeper bass. +1 The answer is right there. Titans. Really only the trance guys and electronica need anything below 30-35. The 40-80 range where the titans absolutely kick ass is w...

Well before I pretty much decide on a driver, do you guys feel I made the right decision leaning towards the Titan instead of the Tuba? That was the most important question I had, because I don't think i've ever really heard bass that the Tuba can offer, so therefore I don't respect it. It seems the...
