Re: Transfering RTA graphic EQ to Crown XTi parametric EQ

I've done a separate eq for the subs. Would you mind sharing your process for EQ-ing your subs? I did it in the same maner with a PAA3 setting the mic about ten feet away and an inch off the ground. This was done about a hundred feet away from my house on the lawn. I used a about half power to get ...

Re: Transfering RTA graphic EQ to Crown XTi parametric EQ

Do the eq for one side only or you will be reading all kinds of comb filters. I eq my systems outside with one side of the PA. I set the mike at speaker level and about ten feet away. I usually did about three or four readings with my PAA3 and average them. These settings are transfered to your eq ...

Re: Transfering RTA graphic EQ to Crown XTi parametric EQ

And do you set it up just like you would in a venue? Tops on stands 20+ feet apart and subs center clustered on the ground? Where do you place the mic? Front and center on a stand? As you can tell, I'm revealing my complete ignorance, but I'm going to attempt to do this once I get my DR200's finish...

Re: Power Distro 3 phase questions

The best advice has already been given....................Don't do it. Electrical work is not a hobby. If you make the connection and someone gets zapped, you are LIABLE! Let the electricians make the connections and let the circuits down stream become their liability.

Re: Crown XTi 2000 Problems

Have you tried the default "Crossover" peset? If it works OK with that setting then you are probably missing something in your setup of the DSP presets.

Re: Waveguides...they look like horns.

The guys at diyaudio are :horse: multiple times over. I'm having trouble seeing what the big deal is. They don't look particulary complicated. Do they not have tradeoffs just like any other design? Is it a trend or a true improvement in audio reproduction? They don't have to be complicated. A trump...

Re: backline 22" T39 + OT12

Congrats on getting the job done. When you gig with this setup you will be totally stoked. Mine is the OT1-12 with a 22" dual loaded BP102. Powered by a Crown XTI2000 with a BMAXT BBE preamp. For me it's the mostest wampum-stompum bass rig. When we have full PA support I just leave the sub in t...

Re: DR200 and T30 First Impressions

I would also vote for OT12's. They are my favorite mostly because of an easier quicker build, not to mention the fact that they will crossover at 100 Hz unlike the DR200 that crosses at 120HZ. This can be an important factor because of integration with subs. Subs can begin to become directional at 1...

I guess it's time to dig out my wireless, as much as I hate dealing with batteries and extra gear. Well, the extra gear thing is getting out of hand anyway, so what the heck...... I try to use my wireless at the sound check or even in the first set to be able to hear not only how my bass is soundin...

Good looking build and a great review. I have used the omni15 at several gigs, one of which was an outdoor party. I was impressed at how well this cab handled the outdoor thing. It had superior clarity and the bass end was strong and punchy. No doubt this is a strong contender for bass cab of the ye...

Good idea! I filled mine with body filler to ease the grip but 1/4 round seems like a good approach. :)

I built a set of 10.5's for a small PA with foam core ply.I had sticker shock when I paid about $120 per 4x8 sheet. I first cut all the peices and then removed an eighth of an inch from all edges and filled with PL just before fastening in place. They have been in service for over a year and about t...

A little update. I installed the passive crossover in the t39 and set it up in my living room. The ot12 gets the mids and highs out with great presision, almost too good. You really have to be carefull with fret sound etc. because of the clairity. As for the bass end, a bevelled glass mirror shook i...
