Re: Potential THT driver

Thanks Bill! I just looked over the specs it's actually closer to spec to the Dayton that's in it already. I'm not sure how I overlooked this driver.

Potential THT driver

I can only assume at some point with the previous owner that the Dust Cap came off the driver inside the enclosure. Just recently what looks like the voice coil former cloth cap came out of the mouth of the horn. Being the 15" Dayton DVC 385-88 went away several years ago I would rather not ris...

Re: Impressions of the THT.

Amazing! BTW, how wide is your Little Monster? Are you using 12 or 15in? Cheers from Brazil I'm using the 15" so it's 36x36x24 Ok...just to understand, since 15in THT panel vary from 17 to 35 in... If I remember correctly that is true. But getting it through a doorway might be difficult with a...

Re: Impressions of the THT.

I finally got this bad boy rolling. I was having a giggle when the whole house started shaking @20hz although I will have to get a piece of carpet to put under it as the subwoofer started walking across the floor. Luckily where I wanted to put it is perfect with no nulls in my 2 listening positions...

Re: First HTH.

Congrats on the epic find! That's the sorta random luck that makes me wonder about the design of life. Eerily fortuitous. Please keep us posted with your impressions and feel free to ask any questions you may have  Oh I will. I ran out of time on my time off to get it set up. P.s. I will ...

First HTH.

Sometimes timing is everything. I was planning on also eventually building a THT for my home theater and a crazy thing happened. A local was selling his THT that he built 12 years ago that is loaded with a Dayton DVC385-88-15. I can't wait to get everything set up and let this thing bring the thunde...

Re: Sound engineering and combustion engines

One thing I do know about sound engineering and combustion engines, is that it is important for engine performance on a naturally aspirated 4 stroke for purposes of scavenging during the intake and exhaust overlap. When it comes to 2 strokes such as motocross bikes, specially the 125 cc 2 strokes.. ...

Subwoofer driver design and Subsonic frequency addiction.

It all started when I was 16 when I got my first job at a glass company. One of the guys had me clean out the bed of his truck and in the back he had a blown 12" Memphis power reference 12 in a rain sodden particle board box. He let me have it as he was gonna toss it. Well over time after messi...

Re: Hello from New Orleans Louisiana

Thanks! This is just an example of one of my experiments that well I learned quite a bit from it's failure to perform and burned the coils out due to being overdamped.

Re: Hello from New Orleans Louisiana

My actual name is Tim, lol. I have a reason behind the username I chose. Some of those reasons are the reason I don't go to competitions very much anymore. With that aside. I think the first time I got to experience clean undistorted Bass was when I ran a pair of First Gen MTX 9515-04 subs till one ...
