Re: Sica drivers for dr280 and single use of HF
Thank you Bill. I'll simply try to get them then, or "borrow" the hf107 from my otop15Bill Fitzmaurice wrote: βWed Apr 09, 2025 4:21 pm There's no point in running any that have no tweeters.
Guess we can forget Eminence here soon

Re: Sica drivers for dr280 and single use of HF
The drivers look OK. But as for this: could I, for the coupling sake, use six mid-drivers and use four tweeters, either in one cab or in two I don't understand what you mean. For now, I'm not able to buy more tweeters. If I build the six dr250, and instead of just using the two complete ones, use a...

Sica drivers for dr280 and single use of HF
Hi! Ordered some drivers according to pictures. Vas is a bit low and fs is a bit high, along with the rule of following tha plans i cant find the other sentence I've read that said something like "low vas and xxxx fs(?) tend to cancel out so it might work", something like that, or i might ...

Coaxial in horn curiosity
Saw this driver and wondered, what happens with a coax hornloaded? Out of curiosity and to understand more of the concept. My guess would be that it perhaps could extend the range of the LF- section a little bit, or it just doesnt because the horn is not suited for frequencies over...? If so, is it ...

Re: Live music venue
You guys are the best, so entertaining to see forum chats at it's best. Thank you guys! If, and that is if, i try them under the drum riser, my plan was not corner loading since the riser might not not be high enough? Leaving no exit for the sound.. So i thought i'd use the riser like a v-plate more...

Re: Live music venue
If you place the cab with the mouth in the no-go zone, the reflected soundwave will produce a deep cancellation centered on the frequency at which a quarter wavelength corresponds to the measured distance. Thank you Seth. Yes I've looked at the placement thread and considered different scenarios. J...

Re: Live music venue
No matter where the subs are the result in an adjacent room will be the same. I see. Even placed in a doorway/door opening? The best way to "protect" the other room is to highpass the subs around 50hz - that's plenty for live sound and will help to mitigate the low-end in the other room.....

Re: Live music venue
Ah I see. Do you have any "dont's" for when I'm testing locations? Except from near mics that tend to feedback.. π
How much wall is there from the corner of AB and the 130cm opening on Stage Left (right side in drawing) on wall B? I'd say about 40cm. With that doorway opened.. it's hard to...

Re: Live music venue
So, this is a quick rough draft of the venue. I might be able to record a 3d view soon though. As said, venue is about 5x13x3 meters. Stage is about 5x3 meters In the left corner of the stage is a drum riser that is about 1.3 meters high from floor and 60cm from stage height. One thought was to corn...

Re: Live music venue
Haha! Thank you Seth. Well, not too many yet, had them laying down, wall loaded at each side first i think. It worked okay. Then standing up at each side. Once i raised the stage i put them centered together in front of it , both straight and coupled. Had som blankets in front of them and noticed at...

Live music venue
Hi! I am wondering about pros and cons, choosing setup for a venue.. It is about 5m. wide, 12m. long and with a height of 3 meters. (About 16x40Γ10 feet?) The floor right now is gravel with thick textile carpets on, walls are plaster or wood. The ceiling is now planks with plastic foil on and glass ...

Re: My David
Searched the forum, just to double check, sub crossover is 200hz? I think i'll just throw in a small sub amplifier in the cab instead of the low pass filter? The typical one with a pot to change the crossover point. (thinking i'll run it in rew to see how steep it is). Even with a quite small amp it...

Re: My David
The Vas shouldn't be an issue. While you could use it for a stand alone sub that leaves a lot of wasted space in the cab. You'd be better off using it in one of the TableTuba configurations. Thank you Bill!π I might build it as it is and a matching top in the same style for another channel then. Wi...

Hi! Managed to get a tang band sub fairly cheap second hand. I miscalculated the VAS though. At parts express it says about 19 litres and googling the driver, some places shows as low as 16 litres. According to the plans it is suppose to be 30 ltrs +/- 20%. Is it useless? https://www.parts-express.c...
