Re: Jack 15 Lite Build

What did you use for the "jack" to hold the tool battery? Did you 'harvest' what you needed from an extra charger base? Very intriguing. I'd love to build a separate box with BT that could be powered by my Ryobi 18v battery or batteries for music listening outdoors through my Jack. [Edit] ...

Fiebings Leather Dye also works quite well for wood. It'll also dye Bondo wood filler where it's almost indistinguishable from the wood. Learned this when I accidentally drilled through the back of my bass body while doing the bridge ground, whoops!

Loving my J10 Lite for my mediocre bass playing. Enjoy the ride!

Re: 4x10 or 4x12 Bass Guitar Cabinet Plans

My Jack10 (Lite) with an amp head that puts 150 amps into the 8 ohm driver gets quite loud with my passive P-basses. More than plenty for home use and arguably enough for some gigging. The master volume is never above 9 O'clock at home (unless the spouse leaves, ha ha). With a second one, then I thi...

Re: Deciding on Bass Cab Build

The Jack is great. I built a JLite110, but I'm just a bedroom player. It gets crazy loud with my cheapo amp head. Bill's plans are great, easy to follow, lots of detail and logical. The Lite isn't hard to do, especially if you have the means to deal with the shaped cuts (and you do). I used a laser ...

Re: Legalize An Audience Gun

About the only gigs we attend anymore are when we attend C&W dances in our Central Texas retirement community. Lots of love for the bands. They're paid well, no gate worries. Crowd is into it. Smiles all around. No one under 65 generally. But, I do agree, people are just impossible. Being an old...

Re: Jack 110 questions

Call me lazy, but when I need to tilt my Jack10, I use a length of 2 x 4 that I spray painted black. I had to stick some no-skid pad thingy on it to keep it from sliding backwards. Fold out handle sounds cool, if it locks in position.

Jack's a movin...

Jack 10L, which absolutely love, going into a box for it's move from Central Texas to the KC area. Small combo is coming home from my buddies house today. I'll limp by with it until move day. I'm really thinking about using the woodshop and laser here in the 'hood, while I still have access, to cut ...

Re: Jack 15 Lite Build

Is there any tip on how to form and fasten the sheaths easier? Just lots of clamps? Haha.
I used a laser engraver to 'score' the smaller ones so they'd bend easier. Worked great.

Re: Jack 110 questions

I left the tweeters off on my J10 Lite. I play P-bass with flats. I'm very happy with it, but in hindsight, I'd put the tweeters in and just EQ as needed.

I'm a noob to all of this, Bruce, but I've read enough to know that your advice is spot on. Great read! Thanks!

To each his own. Of course, the songs that you hear when you're in you're in your teens are more likely to have the effect you describe.

Re: J210 Lite bass guitar cab Review

I made a Jack 110 Lite last year and I'm just in love with it. Very articulate, cuts through well. Plenty loud for my needs. If I ever need more, I'll make a second one. And YES the light weight is to die for.

Great post, thanks for sharing.

Bass players are the offensive linemen, you really need them, but they're not noticed until they make a mistake. I pretend to be one.
