Re: T45 stack
Got a the 2nd box pretty much assembled. Still have a lot of sanding/filling to do and I Will install the main braces before painting. A7B68EEB-E214-4B27-B37F-9B87852B95FF.jpeg However when constructing the 2nd box, I realized I forgot to add the internal braces (not the visible ones) on the first b...

Re: T45 stack
"Is air tightness important around every internal edge or more important where the outside panels join?" DEFINITELY all along the horn path. Without a continuously sealed boundary between subsequent parts of the horn, the pressure will "short circuit" by taking the path of least...

Re: T45 stack
You're right, the first box is looking good. Nicely done! 1) Use PL construction adhesive. The guy at Rockler recommended tightbond 3 for outdoor speaker boxes instead of PL and against my better judgement I decided to listen to him instead of the instructions. Big mistake. :wall: Air-tightness is ...

PEdsaH0.jpeg the first box is shaping up nicely. A few things I will do differently going forward: 1) Use PL construction adhesive. Re: T45 stack
Rub some PL on it and it'll be fine. If you have access to a CNC, why not make some router templates? Makes builds way faster, easier and consistent. If I made 8 of anything by hand, the first would look terrible and the eighth would look decent. I have to complete the CNC router safety course befo...

Re: T45 stack
I have an xti2000 I'd probably sell if you need something for the tops. I got spare amps laying around.....probably time to get rid of some. Right now, I'm focusing on the subs before i start acquiring gear for the tops. but as soon as im done with these, ill be very interested! SyNWLSd.jpeg Also, ...

Re: T45 stack
I'm looking at my dream space right there - the wife and kids would never see me again and I would have walls full of unused drivers for 'projects' that I'll start 'later'. That's the makerspace I joined this year. Decided to join when I wanted to start this project. They have all the tools you can...

Re: HowieZ DR200 build
1/2 Baltic Birch 16 panels @ 6.22 from Menards 99.52 for those curious about cost-cutting, after running the SketchUp model through the cut list extension you can get all 1/2in pieces cut from a single 5'x5' board. My local wood supplier sells them for about $65 apiece. so you should be able to sav...

Re: HowieZ DR200 build
looking good! I plan on building a handful of these myself when I finish my Tuba45's!
What did you use to paint the inside surfaces? I was wondering if I should duratex the inside of my T45 or use a different kind of paint.

Re: T45 stack
Been hiding under a rock reading and re reading the plans for the last week. Finally started cutting the panels today. Ran out of 5x5 panels so I spliced 2 offcuts together. Waiting for that to dry before I finish cutting the last 2 long internal panels. Looks pretty cool. What will you be doing wit...

Re: Working on new build, need amp advice
so heres what im thinking to drive the subs at least. if I run 4 tuba45's with lab 12 drivers, I could power them with the Behringer nx3000d (2 subs per channel in parallel) the amp is 2 ohm stable so if two of the subs are daisy chained on each channel that would bring the impedance down to 3ohm on...

Re: Working on new build, need amp advice
Third, if you plan to use them primarily outdoors, you'll get more useable output with Titans. Yes I will primarily be using them outdoors, but also indoors at after parties and the music I will be playing is deep dub so the lower the subs can fire the better. I much prefer lowness to loudness anyw...

Working on new build, need amp advice
I’ve always wanted to build a system to be able to take to festivals for renegade late night sets, and I’ve finally gotten started. I’m working on 4 tuba 45’s, and 2-4 dr280’s. For the tubas I will be going with the eminence bp102 drivers. I’m on a fairly tight budget and I’m building the speakers a...
