Re: T48 stack
I want to help you set this rig up and get it dialed in. Over several days, I've typed up really long responses for this thread, then chosen not to post them for whatever reason. I am definitely still lurking around the forum, and I am absolutely interested in getting this all set up right and dial...

Re: T48 stack
Yeah, I still have a lot to learn.
My mixer doesn't have much eq in it. Berhinger rack mounted mixer, and fairly basic.
I want a stand alone eq, or a fancier mixer, but I've been waiting until I need it and am better at using it.
Thanks for the tips

Re: T48 stack
I did set the limiter with the amp turned all the way up. But the amp controls were just easier to use than the mixers to make adjustments during the event. Or rather after getting my levels and gain-staiging set, I would use the mixer's to adjust the entire system volume, then adjust the sub-amp a ...

Re: T48 stack
Sorry for the long delay. They still need to be painted and I need to redo the plug panels and fix one of their plug access ports. Compress_20230913_170159_9300.jpg But they have been tested, enthusiasticly approved of and run successfully. The Saturday after my last post, I woke up early to test th...

They are done!
At least the first pair. They still need to get painted, but they are built and wired. Now I need test them and get them dialed in.

Re: T48 stack
Thank you Seth, they have come a long way since I started and I'm pretty pleased with the results so far, definitely the most complicated wood working project I've done to date. I know exactly what you mean about "loud" vs clean and actually loud, and I'm very excited to get to play with a...

Re: T48 stack
Is this one glued in? Definitely make sure. Compress_20230712_125755_5443.jpg That one was still loose when the picture was taken, but it has been glued in. Thank you for the concern though. I'm approaching the end here, at least of the construction. Just a few pieces left! I may be able to test th...

Re: T48 stack
Im going with Seth's suggestions, looking at the boxes, it seems like the "right" number for each section.
I've gotten panels 5 & 6 on one box now, and all the wood to finish them, so hopefully next week I'll get those panels on the other one and get 7 & 8 done on both.

Re: T48 stack
Thank you for all the responses. One more question while on the subject, what are the pros and cons of more or less braces? My thoughts are, more braces gives you slightly more riged and sturdy cabs in exchange for a more weight. Possible slightly reduced performance from lost space, but possibly sl...

Re: T48 stack
Yesterday I was cutting panels 5 & 6, a long with bracing, and I had a question. In the plans it says they should be spaced 6" to 9", does that mean I should use however many I need to hit at least 6 and most 9 inches between each other and the sidewalls? In other words, 4 sets of brac...

Re: T48 stack
A lot of progress was made this week. They are both as far as I can get them without buying more plywood. Compress_20230525_184654_4288.jpg I checked my local fancy wood store, and blthe 1/2" BB sheets are currently $65 here in Northern Arizona, and very available. Compress_20230525_184654_4667...

Re: T48 stack
Thank you for all the input. I really should stop second guessing what the plans say, but I do appreciate having good and solid reasons for why things are the way they are. I have lots of experience using screws, so no worries there, I probably already have some good, heavy-duty ones of the right si...

Re: T48 stack
I now have panels 1-4 ready to install, other than cutting the hole for the speaker itself and I have my PL-premium ready to go and should be starting assembly on Tuesday. On the subject of speakers, I would rather they were bolted in rather than screwd, I was thinking of glueing lag bolts through t...

Re: T48 stack
I have finally been able to make some progress on this. I had some proper 1/2 Baltic in storage at work to build a bench out of and I ended up using something else for that purpose and was able to repurpose that towards speakers. I started making a pair, with the pa Lab to make a second pair when I ...
