Re: Allen & Heath Mixers
The Yamaha 24 is also 300 dollars US more then the ZED 24 so I'm thinkin you're paying more for those extra groups and mixing options! A 24 channel straight out board is exactly what it is. No frills 24 channels into a final mix with some Auxs that can be used as monitor channels (selectable pre or...

Re: Allen & Heath Mixers
My sons school has a ZED24. Sorry but I just have to vent my frustration at this desk. I know these are built to a budget, but this desk annoys me every time I use it. What's the point of building a 24 channel desk with no subgroups? There isn't even any master faders on Aux 3+4 FFS! The routing lim...

Re: Introducing SPL Chart
Mystery over. The 3012HO chart is now included in the updated plans.Chris_Allen wrote:Afaik, the OT12's were measured with the 2512. I do have charts for the 3012HO which I need to get sampled.
Is your chart for the new phase plugged OT12?

Re: Introducing SPL Chart
That would be Brill. The Delta Pro 12 should be similar, - but heavier of course.Chris_Allen wrote:Afaik, the OT12's were measured with the 2512. I do have charts for the 3012HO which I need to get sampled.

Re: Introducing SPL Chart
I am aware that the 3012HO has better sensitivity, greater power handling and therefore more than twice the output of the 2512. What I am concerned about is the cab tuning of these drivers in the OT12. My sims suggest that the 3012 and Delta Pro work better in smaller boxes, and predicts that they w...

Re: Introducing SPL Chart
Hi Chris. Thanks for producing an excellent resource for us BFM Users. I am on the verge of building a quartet of high performance OT12 with either Delta Pro 12 or 3012HO. I presume the standard OT12 chart is with 2512, but can not find any charts or plots for Delta Pro 12 or 3012HO in the OT12. Any...

Re: Some RTA plots for OT15
Stu, do take time to add some more and thicker foam damping to the inner surfaces in your OT15's. I've added quite a bit inside two of the OT12's. It made a significant difference. They're getting sweeter every time I use them. You seem to be presuming that Stus OT15s are constructed by the same bu...

Re: Some RTA plots for OT15
Perhaps the P-Audio horn used is not a good candidate. Here's what you should be seeing in terms of raw HF performance on a 90x75 horn: http://bmsspeakers.com/fileadmin/bms-data/curves_compression/neodymium/bms_4552nd_curves.jpg Certainly the typical CD/horn roll off is expected, but not to the ext...

Re: Some RTA plots for OT15
The HF horn is at the Top of the cab. The cab was upside down when I measured it to avoid cancellations from ground reflections in the HF. So yes, jeff is right that the HF section is effectively measured in quarter space, and its output is higher than it will be when mounted on a pole. This is not ...

Re: Some RTA plots for OT15
If anyone has a good idea of a suitable F.M. curve you think I should be using as a template let me know but for now I am very happy indeed. Stu An FM curve will involve quite a lot of boost in the bottom end, and / or even more cutting in the mid highs on top of what you already need for the CD ho...

Re: Some RTA plots for OT15
From what I see it appears the woofer wasn't measured ground plane, and of course whatever's going on above 1.5kHz is the product of the BMS driver and Paudio horn. The cab was measured on the ground, with the mic 1 meter from the centre of the front of the cab. Mic was 1/2" above the ground a...

Re: Poll: e-bass amp power
My Trace eliot AH250 only puts 180w into 1 cab when turned up. Usually the Master vol sits at 2. I turned it up to 2 + 1/2 once in a big park gig with vocal only P.A. The council arrived after the 2nd song because the people in the flats half a mile away were complaining. The joy of efficent...

Re: DBX Driverack with the RTA microphone... or DCX2496?
Also, I know alot of people here consider behringer to be inferior, but i have worked and own two mixer(stay away from these), 3 processors(VERY good bang for the buck), and one of their amps. All in all, for the money I paid for them I would buy them again if they were stolen and do not regret eve...

Re: what is a good mixer for the money?
If you are new to the sound game an easy analog board is the Yamaha MG166CXUSB 16 Channel USB Mixer. Good bang for the buck or a used Allen & Heath mixwiz. I would go for the yamaha if you want to keep it simple. The compression and effects are very usable especially for wild singers. I have ha...

The one downside was that they couldn't hear themselves as well as they would like. Can I say 'I told you so' In the audience, the MCs were spot on. The bottom one had the highs. Glad to see that my suggestion of using separate speakers for Tracks & Vocals worked out for you. In your ori...
