Re: Bass/Keyboard cab. Omni 12 Tallboy.

Well.... I fired it up. cone slap on the baffle. I cut that 45 degree edge, not enough though. I tested them out with the uninstalled baffle, but not at high enough volume. Gutted the box. Went after the edge with a die grinder and an air belt file. !0 minutes later I was right on the edge of that c...

Bass/Keyboard cab. Omni 12 Tallboy.

Yup, I chose the right cab to build for a bass rig. That is what my eyes are telling me. As I sand and scrape glue off this box, I thump it around to hear what tone it has. It has a little bark to it already. The tubas I built, when they were all done, but one side, had a bunch of different tones as...

Re: DRIVERACK PA voltage limit settings for SLA 4/6

I've only set this up half a dozen times. Went from knowing zero to having a decent show or two. I have noticed I use less EQ adjustments each time on the board. Things just seem to like being left straight up the middle. I cut some highs here and there. The Driverack is an amazing tool, I take note...

Re: DRIVERACK PA voltage limit settings for SLA 4/6

Thanks for the reply. Yes my life will be a lot easier forgetting about that 'M' fader. Just seeing if I would be missing out on some more 'magic'. Apparently not. I am going to forget about that limit for the SLA too, then I can just be done. Using a cool little board, an Allan & Heath Mix Wiza...

DRIVERACK PA voltage limit settings for SLA 4/6

Hello People, I have been tuning the rig up. It is going great. I set all the limiters to 55 v for the T24s with the KL3010lfs I have working for me. Then in all the plugging and adjusting I realized I don't know the voltage limit of the SLAs or even if they need to be set. There are eight little Al...

Tuba 24 Build Progress

Hey, here are the new pair of tubas. Yes it's 3/4 ply, and so are the other two. I have some leftover ply I had to burn up. This just about used it all up. 1/2 ply from now on. That being said, the other pair of 3/4 inch ply Tubas sounded great! it would be interesting to hear them against a 1/2 inc...

Re: Build Progress

Hello, I took a few weeks off from sounds. The show went great, we never did get to setting the limiter. We did not have to push things, for it was plenty loud in the room with the 200 bodies. Corner loaded the subs after trying them stage left and right. I had to hear the difference. Big difference...

Re: Build Progress

Thanks! And thanks for all the help, I really appreciate it! We set it up a few different ways, and the driverack was its own challenge. Had to figure out that mutes do what they are told, moved the subs a few times for the RTA mic, just navigating another screen....hateful(sure, it worked well tho,...

Re: Build Progress

Well fired 'em up, very nice. That's two Tuba 24s-18 inches wide, inside the cab of a Tacoma in the jump seat, and two SLA Pros thrown on top. I had to store them out of the way so made an 8 foot 10 array. It's going to be a shame to paint these.

Re: Build Progress

Leland has been busy soldering PCBs, I've got some XOs/filters on the way. I have a mountain of drivers right now, all I need. The wiring is about all that is left. Still in line, like everyone else for Eminence, the original drivers order. Those will be for the other Tuba 24s to be built.

Re: Build Progress

Craig, that's coming together nicely! Good job man! SLA Pro's have no business being used with any of the DR series designs. Yes, you can play them together, just the same as you could toss a pair of home speakers in the pile and sound would occur. But for best results, use DR250's with DR250's. SL...

I was happy to see that 2 SLA PROs barely take up 1/2 a sheet of ply. ECONO!!!

Build Progress

Today no questions. Just some SLA Pro 4x6 pics. This build was very easy compared to that Tuba 24. Some wise forum members talked me out of a DR250 build for an upcoming event, there just isn't the time. I'm still building the DR250s next year. Crap, Im' gonna sneak one question in here. I'm wonderi...

Re: Driver choices for a Tuba 24.

Ha, I just saw a few members and BILL trying to get me to not tag on old posts. I would love to start new threads. I have a few more questions for other topics. I have only seen the "NEW TOPIC" button once. I keep scrolling thru menus. I can't find the dang button. So I tapeworm onto old t...
