It's worked out well the past year.

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
What frequencies are the IQ15B's covering? 90 or 100hz to whatever the crossover is internally to the tops. Arguably not a lot of bandwidth, but I like the bit of distortion added at the top end of the kickdrum, and they're inline with the tops so alignment is taken care of. I'm not willing to spen...

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
They're playing in different bandwidths. its a small narrow room that's thankfully wood floors with a basement. We've been doing this show for a year. Not many options besides right in front of the DJs.
T39s are only covering 45-100hz.

Re: Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
I don't believe my hornresp model is accurate, best to wait for Bill's ruling on it. In spite of that, mine is indicating 43 volts with a 24dB 45Hz high pass filter. Have you considered the option of re-coning the 3012LF's? limit to 40v, shouldn't be a problem. A single recone kit is as much as bot...

Budget (old plan) t39 driver?
I need to refresh the two t39's I have, we've kind of melted the 3012LF's that were in them. I just need something to get by in a houseparty setting, with as low of a cost as possible. I'm looking at this driver: https://www.parts-express.com/GRS-12PT-8-12-Paper-Cone-Prosound-Woofer-3-Voice-Coil-8-O...

Re: What to build (eminence 4012)
I'd like that in some form of technical data? how many db up toward the crossover frequency?
A couple of Jacks would be easy to build, and would be nice to have a few more tops around. not like a couple sheets of ply and some piezos will break the bank

Re: Personal electronic music history
Well, I survived. Four days, maybe 4 hours sleep total? I don't even know, but the event was beyond amazing. The sound at the big stages was stellar. I think I counted 48 2x18 subs across the entire front, set up cardiod with FRF placement. This was also my first chance to try out some Loop Experie...

Re: Importance of priming before Duratex
Also be sure to use a water based primer, I coated some cabs in kiltz primer that was not water based and everything flaked.

What to build (eminence 4012)
Greetings all, it's been awhile. I have two blown definimax/magnum 12's here that should be used for something. I do recall these came out of a now long-gone T30, but would they work in any other cabinets? Is there a guide to which driver are good in each design anywhere? Besides what's list in the ...

Re: Anyone doing FPGA DSP?
Driveracks won't do FIR filtering, which I bet the OP is looking into. That's a huge can of worms, and well above my understanding of math and audio. There is software now to make it easier, but knowing how many taps and where to put them is a complex process and involves a lot of trial and error an...

Re: EQ-ing mic comparison
How are you setting up the mic?
If you're pointing the capsule at the speakers, you might be getting skewed high-end results. Every time I see anyone bust out a smaart rig, the mic is on a stand pointed up and at ear level.

Re: Modifying Drivers
I have made one of my own heatsink, Just as PI speakers sells them. Have yet to use it, don't have access to a lathe anymore. I still have one laying about though. Was cool to make when the shop was slow. It's said to really help in rear chambers that are cramped. Bill's designs with the access door...
