They're playing in different bandwidths. its a small narrow room that's thankfully wood floors with a basement. We've been doing this show for a year. Not many options besides right in front of the DJs.

T39s are only covering 45-100hz.

If you're pointing the capsule at the speakers, you might be getting skewed high-end results. Every time I see anyone bust out a smaart rig, the mic is on a stand pointed up and at ear level.

I have made one of my own heatsink, Just as PI speakers sells them. Have yet to use it, don't have access to a lathe anymore. I still have one laying about though.
