SLA Pro and WH6 live band review

Hi, So to replace some old eminence driven 12 tops I build 2 SLA pro's and to add to our Wedges 2 WH6. I've done a good number of gigs with these now and here's what I found. Sorry for lack of pictures! I play in a Reggae / Ska band and this being the UK and the venues being pubs we needed a thin ca...

Re: Small Pubs - melded vs panel mount piezo

ah, ok - I get it now. Thanks! In an ideal world we'd love to have 7 monitors - sadly the places we play the floor space can get tight to say the least (!),We just keep stage levels low and rely on PA to do the heavy lifting, a bit of tilting in of guitar and keyboard amps, with some vox also throug...

Re: Small Pubs - melded vs panel mount piezo

Hi, Thanks - did clock that in the plans, just wondered what people had found in very tight spaces in terms of reflections, and if then the narrower dispersion of melded might be advantageous in these particular cases? We have a few more than two in band: singer, sax, guitar, keys, percussion, bass ...

Re: Piezo cut off frequency

Ah ha... Cheers Seth, that makes more sense now! I'll get the piezos ordered and see how we go over the next 2 weeks, looking forward to hearing them when finished - currently using 100w to drive a 12 inch and APT150 wedge and 150w to drive a small 6 inch and piezo, I reckon this design will be a go...

Piezo cut off frequency

Hi, Decided on a wedgehorn 6 and SLA pro build, so just getting parts together.(and giving my old P.A to local school to blow up (more) :D ) I'm looking at the specs for Monacor and goldwood piezos- It looks like they run from 3/3.5KHz upwards (I'm in UK so getting Monacor is much easier!) In the W6...

SLA pro or omnitop

Hey, For live band with sub crossed over at 120Hz , what's the pros and cons of Omnitops vs SLA pros please? Anyone built both and tried them for live band use? Weighing up the build and cant work out which would be the better option- small venues (pubs!) with low ceilings and audience spread out ac...

50w Cloud amp - too little...?

Hi! I have a four channel Cloud amp - very efficient and reliable make in the UK - used in many installs in bars for zoned music distribution, worth £550 got it for £75 (!) 4 x 50w I run two conventional wedges on it (bridged to 2 x 100w). Works fine for the band: 1 monitor at front for sax player a...
