Re: Soldering filters for DR200's
What is the easiest way to test the filters are working properly? i've got all four of mine ready for the DR200's, can't see why they wouldn't work but it'd be great to run some tests to make sure everything is perfect. I'm guessing test tones would give me some idea. Could i put a multimeter over t...

Re: Soldering filters for DR200's
Thanks Guys, Yep , i think i'm ready to go. Been soldering rgbw strip for awhile so i'm used to some finer work. Thanks for the photos Grant. I think i must have read that post but missed that page or something. I'm doing a melded array. Those bits are sorted. Don't really want to get to the end, it...

Soldering filters for DR200's
Hey peoples, Just about to put together the LP and HP filters for my DR200's. Thought i'd just check in to get any tips that you may have? I thought i'd use 14awg for the LP and 18awg for the HP. Obviously low temp soldering iron and short soldering time on the components. I'm in Australia and got m...

Re: Tuning options DR200's
Thanks guys, yep that clears up the dimensions.
At 1/4" is the port centred on the ply skin (so sticks out approx.1mm either side) or flush on the exterior projecting inside?

Tuning options DR200's
Just a DR200 build questions. I'm building 2 x tuba30's and 2xDR200's. Keeping a 1:1 ratio. i have searched the forum for info on the tuning options on the DR200's. In particular the port sizes. Assuming i want to crossover below 135hz (someone can tell me where the sweet spot is between the DR's an...

Re: Perspex panels
All good points guys, and still not sure about whether to float my boat. Thought about just a big heavy piece of glass. No fixings. Less scratching. bloody heavy though. I'd be interested as Seth pointed out what the pressure level would be and how heavy that piece of glass would have to be to maint...

Re: Perspex panels
The other side of mine has already been screwed and glued, with 1 1/4"screws every 3", wasn't a problem. I might extend the perspex side screws a little to get extra bite and allow for the thickness of the gasket tape. i haven't looked at the right material yet and i'd want enough thicknes...

Re: Perspex panels
ah yes very true with the DR's.
yes i started thinking just the driver compartment covers on the tubas but it went from there. If i can find the right material to use between the cab and the perspex i might try it.
thanks guys

Perspex panels
Hey, I'm building 2 x tuba30's. I've only the last side panel to go on. I was looking at the great design, seems a pity to cover it up. Has anyone any thoughts on doing the last panel in perspex to let the internal design show. I'm guessing a few issues could be a different resonance with the perspe...

Re: Yamaha PX series ??
That's all great Bruce, thanks for taking the time to explain it all to me. I'll follow all that through and once that has sunk in, your right, it should make amp choice alot easier since i know what i'm actually looking for. Thanks for the calculator too, invaluable. The Lab12's are going in Tuba30...

Re: Yamaha PX series ??
yes, i thought amps just reacted to what was plugged into it rather than it trying to set an impedance. I am still trying to get my head around the voltage part and so understanding the limiter side of these products. It'd be great to be able to play with one with my intended load to see what it can...

Yamaha PX series ??
Any thoughts on the yamaha pX series power amps? I'm looking at maybe two PX5's to get 4 channels of 500watts at 8ohms I guess in particular running the LAB12 6 ohm drivers. I've noticed if your running generic speakers not yamaha's etc you only have a choice to run at 8 or 4 ohms. Not quite sure ho...

Re: On Board Amp
Thanks again guys for going beyond the call....
I was looking at the PA2 but it may be a bit of overkill and hey i like the price of the PX alot better.
I'll get my head around the PX and contact the seller.
Cheers from down south.....
