Awesome. A single t39 takes about 40volts (atleast with the KappaLITE 3012LF)?
My plans say that the 3012LF should be limited to 55v. (mine is a BP102 with a 35v limit).

Re: Noise from DIY Amp

Bill Fitzmaurice wrote: Mon Oct 06, 2025 6:34 am What you want is only one connection from the amp signal inputs to the chassis ground. If one is present via the power connection don't add another via the input wires. This only applies to unbalanced inputs, not balanced.
Thanks.

Re: Noise from DIY Amp

It could be a ground problem. When there's more than one path to ground on the inputs a ground loop can cause noise. Since the amps appear to be chassis grounded via the power supply the input wires should not be grounded at both ends of the input wires. Bill, are you saying that the input negative...

Re: T39 maintenance

I took a DR250 and a T39 to a house party last night. It's amazing how little power they need. 60x60ft room with cathedral ceiling. 85ish dB at 20ft away, and the T39 was only getting up to 4volts. We tried to keep it reasonable so that people could have conversations. When the guests had left, a f...

Re: Noise from DIY Amp

I wish I had an answer for you. Side note: I got confused when I saw that the white speaker wires were on the positve terminal of the board. Here in NA, white goes to negative, and black to positive. To add some confusion, on NA commercial highway trailers, white is the ground, yet, on GM vehicles (...

Re: T39 maintenance

First time I've ever seen the boards "Active Topics" go blank from inactivity since I've been a member here. Tom to the rescue! An enjoyable read I might add. I've always wondered how to get the side off, never thought long enough to think of using a hand saw. I don't think I've seen one ...

Indeed, I did Bruce. It was because of you that I thought that I should check the screws on the drivers. The screws did move a titch.

Re: T39 maintenance

I should add that those two cabs are the only two that I never really tested. All the other cabs that I have built were stress tested to make sure that they would perform properly.
