Re: HowieZ DR200 build

What a beautiful build thread of your first DR200s howiez. :hyper:

That's a good inspiration for mine in the near future.

Re: T-48 best driver?

If I would have time in the future (and a little money left over) it tickles in my fingers to build a double Lab12 loaded Titan48. I know it's a waste of efficiency per driver because you build the narrow width for each driver and have the highest costs per cab and a very heavy Titan48 but with this...

Re: Ryno — new from Illinois on the Mississippi

Hello Ryno, I use some of the 90° Speakons. They are a little bit more complicated to build together if you make your cables than the standard speakons. But they have the same quality. But the 90° bend only point downwards. So if you need them to point upwards you have to rotate your speakon socket ...

Hi Seth,

good luck for the process.
I think your speaker projects will wait until you're recovered ;-)

Re: What's to chat about?

Holy moly Seth, the 36" wide T48 is really powerful (if you have a huge truck to transport the massive cab). But there shouldn't be any standard doors   Yes I've built two 19" wide T39 but didn't use them outdoors yet because it's winter time you know ;) Next I will build two Oto...

Re: What's to chat about?

Yeah, as a electrical engineer it's all about math :P You're welcome. This way it's so simple to estimate the expected SPL. A pity the dB(max) of the SPL Tool is 140 dB  You gave me an idea to calculate this for all the different widths: T39W16D3012+25.77,T39W24D3012LF+23.5,T39W30D3012+21&w...

Re: What's to chat about?

[...] +21 for one cab, subtract 6 for doubling of cabs to two, subtract another 6 for doubling cab count to four, gives me 9dB to be made up with amplification. Four cabs is 4 watts. 2.83volts/1 watt each. Double that to account for the first 3dB is 8 watts. Double that again for the next 3dB is 16...

Re: Radian's SLA Pro 4x6 build

Good job Radian 8) ,

how are your grills holding because I can't see any screw? Magnets?

Do you know which subs you will build for your SLAs?

Re: Titan48 driver question

Where did you see that file/code option? Just added the faktor in dBs If you can go 24, do it. And use the 12's. You'll not be disappointed. At 40Hz, a single 24" is nearly twice the output of two 15" wide cabs on the same voltage (twice the power/watts). Put another way, if the driver co...

Re: Titan48 driver question

I find interesting that the difference between the T39 and T48 isn't huge if you calculate with SPLmax with the voltage limits written in the plans: T39W24D3012LF+25.77,T48W24D3012+24.9,T48W15D3012+30.9,T48W24D3015+26.5&width=650&height=250&dbmin=110&dbmax=140&fmin=20&fmax=20...

Re: Titan48 driver question

Hello Tom, this wasn't clear for me that this would make such a huge difference... Thank you very much. I know that it would be much better if I would go wider to get the most out of each driver. My initial plan was to build a double twelve but decided to build splitted for easy transportation. Beca...

Re: Titan48 driver question

A big thumbs up for you Seth, thanks so much. So I think we are one the same route for limitation and filter settings. I only would like to get help in interprating of the recommendations in the plans. What configuration did you settle on? Is it a single loaded, 19" wide (external)? Yeah I fini...

Re: Titan48 driver question

Thanks a lot Bruce.
That's real simple.

I think too that it would be safer to leave the recommended HP at 40 Hz untouched and use a 24 dB slope instead of knocking the hell out of the cabs with the lower HP and use the 48 dB slope.
I could imagine that this would sound “warmer“ too.

Thanks

Re: Titan48 driver question

Hey all, sorry that I ask a again a question about the Titan48. I finished the build of my 3012lf loaded T39 for "home usage" :P Now I would like to choose the next step for my summer rig. I've tested some tracks I'm listening and saw that a HP of 35 Hz will be better than 40 Hz. In the pl...

Re: Jack12 or OmniTop12

Bruce,

if you ever heard a BMS 4590 on a large horn as the JBL than you would understand

Do we "need" such huge horns? ... No
Are they good and sound amazing ... absolutly YES :D
