Yes, I see that BassNoid has been dismissed.

Off to detention he should go for asking a simple question.

Re: Bass Guitar Preamp

Well in 45 years of experience I keep coming back my Peavey Rax preamp set in front of a power amp, Ev or other bigger bass boat anchor, for me weight equals a lot of power for the dollar! The Peavey Rax preamp either for bass or Guitar are very much same or identical. They have a fully regulated po...

Re: Dupli-Color truck bed liner

Hey David

I'd sand it down and follow the directions.

If it doesn't work I'll go in with you and split a a pail of Durtex if you don't have a use for a complete pail.

I plan on showing up that show and hear that Box play.

see ya

Re: electric guitar monitor

I should have walk to the workshop instead I sat down with a cup of coffee and hit refresh. Bill, man I've been there more once, it seems a life time. That's one of the reason I've fled the other side of the stage. At times I've plugged in my 100' cord and sat in the audience. The stunt was part of ...

Re: electric guitar monitor

Your right it's a generalization. Agree that the OTop 12, DR200, and DR250's aren't the solution. The best I've heard are Roland Keyboard Amps and I think the Omni10 or Omni12 maybe able to compete with it if using the setup I suggested above which a bit more involved but can/maybe able produce a hi...

Re: electric guitar monitor

Regarding dispersion and open back vs closed back cabinets. This could a different thread but the OP was asking for advice on choice of cabinets. This issue enters into the age old dispute among band members. As a bassist I care a great deal about the drummers existence and condition. The rhythm sec...

Re: electric guitar monitor

I'd go with the Omni10 without the Piezos. You can mount them later or install a switch to turn them off when not needed. Ask most any Drummers what they think of open back guitar cabinets! Almost as much sound comes out of the back as the front. It's difficult to control stage volume and dispersion...

Re: electric guitar monitor

Sorry DJPhatman I have to disagree! The XFline adds coloration as well. He needs a Cabinet and power amp and EQ that adds no or as little coloration possible. The sound from FOH, Monitor/Amp and headphones should be as close a possible. A Hi-Fi cabinet like the Omni10 or Omni12 with careful EQ adjus...

Re: Rack mount enclosure

Stay away from plastic cases if you work in the cold! I live in S.W. Michigan with -15 degrees nights this year. I have been asked to build plywoods cases to replace name brand plastic cases that have cracked while in transit after a show a few weeks ago. The ruff roads that are ice covered banged ...
