Re: BFM Hit List...

The first song I played through the Jack 12's when I got them home was a remastered version of Suite Madam Blue by Styx. Such a great song and it sounds so good cranked!

Re: Help me choose again...

I have a powered mixer and run vocals, drum machine, bass and ukulele through a pair of Jack 12's and it sounds good. Though they wouldn't be loud enough for a large hall (large hall to me is an big Oktoberfest tent full of drunken fat guys yelling drinking songs), it does very well on my deck and i...

Re: What is going on here?

Recording with a Leslie is fairly common in music. For a good song which shows off the Leslie sound (and a beautiful song outright) is Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix. He plays guitar through one on that track. Check it out!

Re: Calling all Karaoke gurus

I use a powered mixer and a laptop and have gone the Youtube route for my garage karaoke. I've had friends that wanted a specific song bring their own tablet / cell phone. I then plug into their media source and we go from there. Works great for a night of caterwauling with friends.

Jack 12's

It is a great day! I picked up two Jack 12's that were constructed by forum member Tom Smit. I had contacted Tom earlier in the year about having the Jacks built. I wanted a full range type PA cabinet that would work with my ukulele, a Roland drum kit, vocals, and my bass guitar. I arrived at Tom's ...

I would imagine they use golf tees to keep score and the bigger holes would be holding my beer in the shade.

Re: Rackstuds

Having racked a ton of gear in my days....... trying to get a standard nut on a stud sticking through would be really hard with some of the amps that have protrusions in the front. Plus, you'd have to screw in the stud from the back as the standard rails are threaded. And you'd need a socket to tig...

Re: Rackstuds

I like the idea of being able to set the equipment onto a stud instead of having to balance it over the holes while starting the threads. Never really thought about this before, but you could thread bolts through from the backside with lock washers, snug them down, and then spin a nut on from the f...
