high/low pass filter question

#1 Post by Guitbusy »

It has been a while since I last posted, but I do lurk from time to time. I am fixing a pair of monitors so I can sell them and build more BFM speakers. I have an issue with the high/low pass filters. They have a pair of light bulbs that (as I understand it) are acting as resistors in the horn tweeter path. They are both blown. Can I replace them with something else, or would the recommendation be to use bulbs again? I am open to using bulbs, but there are no wattage label markings. I am trying to figure out either what watt bulbs to use, or what to replace the bulbs with, in order to get them back working. Thanks for any and all input.

Those bulbs act as primitive limiters. Since you're selling the cabs anyway I'd just replace them with jumper wires to make the cabs work.

Well, that seems too easy :D . But I am a KISS kind of guy. Thanks.
