EP2500 vs GX5
EP2500 vs GX5
Ok I have an EP2500 and it works great on my 2 T30's. I have an opertunity to purchase a GX5 at a good deal. Is it worth getting the GX5 and selling the EP2500? Is their a big difference in performance?
Thanks,

The QSC is a little more powerful......and has a much better rep than the Berry. I've never had a QSC lay down.....can't say the same about Behringer amps.y2kindyz wrote:Ok I have an EP2500 and it works great on my 2 T30's. I have an opertunity to purchase a GX5 at a good deal. From what I've heard, the EP.... series are "OK" amps, ie, not much problems with them.

oK Thank you Bruce and Tom.
I think I will be putting up my EP2500 for Sale. Any idea what a good asking price would be?

Re: EP2500 vs GX5
My EP2500 took years of abuse for about 8 years before I sold it - just too heavy when compared to the new class d amps.
The GX5 is a step up and would snap it up if the price was right.

The GX5 is not that light (28lbs). The GX7 is much lighter and more powerful (16lbs).Chris_Allen wrote:My EP2500 took years of abuse for about 8 years before I sold it - just too heavy when compared to the new class d amps.

I looked up the weight of the EP and the GX5 it is still 4Kg (9lbs) lighter. Not to be sniffed at!Bruce Weldy wrote:The GX5 is not that light (28lbs). The GX7 is much lighter and more powerful (16lbs).

Re: EP2500 vs GX5
Gx is only 4 ohm capable, ep2500 is 2 ohm stable and bridgeable. Output isn't much different. QSC is certainly a better brand but the EPs are pretty much copies of the RMX amps.

Re: EP2500 vs GX5
Had many EP and several GX amps. Short answer is no. But I will tell you the EP I've abused down to 2ohms because they're cheap and always had solid peformance even with 3 Tubas per channel. The GXs I have not run lower than 4ohms.y2kindyz wrote: Is their a big difference in performance?

Re: EP2500 vs GX5
Thanks guys, The weight savings is what I am looking for. Better performance would be a plus. I am good with equal power and I dont plan on getting down to 2 Ohms.
Thanks again
