Hmmm, so maybe having one of these

And 1 amp that does 4x1000 8ohm, or 2 amps 2x1000 will do the trick?

That's a monitor controller.......I don't know what you'd use that for in a PA rig.

Still way more power than you need for this application.

That looks not to bad. It's output per channel, according to spec is, 81V at 4 ohms.
The PA+ should be able to knock 11V off for your 18sounds.

+1 to Bruce's post, just get Y splitters to feed your inputs...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

uups !

I was under the "signal splitter" section of thomann and I thought the gain controls were weird but it might do the trick, but what you are saying is i need 2 of these?

https://www.thomann.de/pt/millenium_sp_31.htm

My problem with getting the amp as I said is both budget and availability,

I'd love to be able to get a crown or a qsc but they cost over twice the budget I have.

a QSC GX5 that's only rated at 2x500w 8ohm costs around 450€ !!

And I know that this is proper PA material, and there's a huge difference between the pro material and the "prosumer" versions I am posting here but unfortunately it is completely beyond my reach at the moment.

Also, I checked the amp I'm using for the tops is a DAP Palladium-1200, which is rated as such:
Stereo mode: 8 Ohm: 2x 530 Watt RMS
4 Ohm: 2x 800 Watt RMS
2 Ohm: Not Allowed
Bridge mode: 8 Ohm: 1600 Watt RMS
4 Ohm: Not Allowed

which is more than enough for the OT12s but again, not even close to being enough for the subs.

I found this one
https://www.thomann.de/pt/t-amp_ta2400. ... m_156557_3

RMS Power rating: 2x 1200 W @ 4 Ohm, 2x 650 W @ 8 Ohm

which I think translates to about 69v output.

IF I limit the 18sound at say 60v (10v below the limit Bill states in the plans) will this drive the amp too much ?

You do not need any kind of signal splitter. With multiple amps, if the amp has parallel inputs, you just daisy-chain from one amp to another. If there is only one input per channel, the you build or buy a Y-cord.

Don't try to make this harder than it is.

Limited to 60-65 volts, that amp should work fine. As far as "driving it too much" - that all depends on the quality of the amp and abuse you give it. If you are going to run sub-40hz material non-stop for 8 hours, you might have a problem with any amp in that price range.

well the filters will be set according to plans so in theory not sending any abuse at all, but I understand what you mean... I'm not expecting this amp to last a lifetime, but if it last me long enough to do shows to buy a decent one then job done !
