T24
Hi everyone;
Here are 4 shots of my T24. Pretty typical build with 5'x5' 1/2" baltic birch ply, BP-102 driver, speakon connector etc. Took 3 days to assemble and 1 to finish/paint. The only little nugget of info I'll pass along is in trimming the panel 7 overhang instead of using a circular saw I used a edge trim router bit which very neatly trimmed the overhang without the risk of nicking the neighbouring panel.
fwiw, my 2 cents.

Nice and clean - like it.
You must tell us how it sounds, the T24 is one of the cabs I haven't built.

Re: T24
thanks guys! It was a fun project to build and I'll admit, I've done a fair bit of woodworking so while it was challenging, the directions are clear and it's a very "doable" project. My 14 yr old son and I built it for our garage.
One thing that made it super easy was having a magnetic angle finder gauge. I used one like this https://www.amazon.com/AccuRemote-Digit ... B006JR8XBG which totally takes the guesswork out of finding angles. If you haven't got one of these, they're really worth the $$
The biggest problem I had honestly was finding a foam textured roller for use with the duratex paint - lots of smooth foam ones but it took 5 stores worth of looking to find.
Sound-wise, so far so good. I'm still tweaking my crossover and eq settings but haven't had the couple of uninterrupted hours to really get it right.
I'll keep ya posted!

Re: T24
How wide? I max'd my width out to 24" with a BP102. If I ever get around to building more, I'll be able to use a premium driver to get it's full potential. I wish I followed directions about the wheels. I used smaller ones with shims and it sucks to roll it around on anything but hard flat surfaces.

That's why I asked how wide. It looks like it needs 2whines wrote:Shouldn't there be more than one set of braces with a 24" wide cabinet?

Re: T24
hey guys,
good catch on the brace part. It is a 24 inch wide cabinet. Here's what I did. I installed 2 braces at 8 inch centers using 1/2" baltic birch for each brace on the interior. When I got to putting the 2 into the 6/10 spot (the one you can see) I really didn't like how it looked. I know we're not supposed to alter the plans, and I did , but reasoning that this sub is sitting in my garage and won't tour it was an esthetic risk I was willing to take. I hope that not putting the second one isn't going to negatively affect the overall function and overall it sounds fantastic. On the esthetic note, I almost added a third 6/10 so that there would be one in the center of the sub. Somehow having the opening in thirds with 2 braces just didn't look right. Anyway, that's my story.

Don't sweat it.....it'll be fine for what you are doing with it. Enjoy it. I built mine as a drum monitor, then put it in the garage after last year's concerts......it hasn't come back out.
The drummer last week remembered it from last year and asked about it......oops.
