I decided to build a Simplexx 15sub the other day. I have a couple 3015lf drivers not being used right now, and I was curious how these sound. Between yesterday and today I have about 7 hours into it, and now it just needs covered and wired. I did this build with a circular saw, and a janky jigsaw I picked up from a pawn shop. And my pawn shop brad nailer, which made things so much easier.
Should have a sound test by next week, we'll see how work goes. I did take a few pictures, but they'll have to wait till I get home.
Overall, it was a very easy build, less than a single 4x8 sheet. It'll probably stay in my practice space, supporting an electronic drum kit. If I really like it, another will be built and it may get bumped to small PA duty..
Who else has done one of these??
My first Simplexx 15sub build.

Pictures I took along the way. (not sure why my computer rotated them all funny?)

Looks good.
I can't remember seeing a build thread on one but I was planning to do exactly the same with a spare pair of 3015LFs.

I'm hoping it meshes well with a pair of 5.25' + 1' silk dome studio monitors. They sound really good, just don't have any real low end to speak of.

You've built them with the pro sound 8" ducts? are you planning on using them for a HT application?

No, it'd be for my practice room. I'd like to be able to use it for the low range for my studio monitors too. In the practice space, it'd be used with a couple Coaxial 12" monitors (not a simplexx design).
I've been considering repurposing the coax 12s for the simplexx monitor. That or the WH8. I think I'd like the WH8 more though.

Re: My first Simplexx 15sub build.
I did a quick test tonight. Ran mono into a PA2, into a Stewart World 1.2 power amp. CH1 highs, CH2 Sub. I used a 3015 loaded Jack15 w/ full melded with the Simplexx 15sub. While I had to hold back the Jack, the 15Sub still surprised me in terms of output. The bass was clean and punchy. I put a high pass of 43hz on it, and crossed the tops 48LR at about 93hz. The sound was very impressive. I'm almost sure I'll be building another in the near future.

Very nice!
The WH8 is an incredible little monitor.
