The speakers should have a gasket on them/with them already. If not then gasket tape works great; or those things I guess.

The XF210 I just finished was loaded with some used speakers that didn't have the gaskets.....I just used the weatherstripping that comes in Leland's kits.....same stuff is at HD. Peel it and stick it to the speaker, then cut notches for the holes.

6 - T39 3012LF
4 - OT12 2512
1 - T24
1 - SLA Pro
2 - XF210

Thank you guys for your answers.

The speakers I have for the XF 212 have gasket to be rear loaded, but non for front loading, so I think I'm gonna use them! ;)

Oh, and the holes for the speakers are now cut! :hyper:

I think I've finished the woodworking today.

Here are the pics of the last two months of work (I only have a few hours free each week-weekend...)

After having attached the baffles, I paint them.

Then I routed the angles, and routed the channels for the piping, and installed the front frame :

and then the rear frame for the back :

Use the gasket if you have it.
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

Thank you Grant,

I'll use the gasket, when I'll put the speakers. But I first have to do the next step : covering with tolex!...

Nice work! Look forward to seeing the tolex.

I'm working on a 210, but it was a high temperature of 10 degrees here today so too cold to work outside.

Thank you guys!

Well, I'm not as fast as I'd like to, because I miss free time to work on my cab, and I only have a router since last Christmas... Before that, I had to wait for a friend of mine to lend me his. So that took some time...

And some things demand time. For instance, I want to have a whole afternoon to tolex the cab. I want to do tolex the whole cab in one run (not one side per evening...). So you'll have to wait to see the tolex, as I will only be able to do it around the 30th of january...

Just for teasing, it's a black weave tolex, in the Matamp/Orange/Vox style, and the grillcloth is a cane style. I'm doing everything in the Matamp/Orange style, to match my Matamp amp head.

I'm quite confident in the result in terms of look, I take my time to have a nice result. In terms of sound, it will be loaded with G12M65 (Creamback) Celestion speakers, for that 70's British tone I'm after.

The only downside of the "tv look" grill frame is that it may cut a bit the dispersion upwards, but I hope that wont be an issue, as my amp is rarely on the ground, but lays on a box I have at rehearsal or in live situations...

The conclusion of this Is I now can't wait to try it!!! :hyper:

Oh, and I forgot to mention, the acoustinc foam lining is now done!

Wow, a month since I came here...

Anyway, tolexing and piping done last week, and it went fine!

The corners, rubber feet and handle are installed... I have to finish the back, install the speakers, and build the grill frame, and I'll be ok!

Anyway, here are the pics!

First, the acoustic foam :

Then the tolex and piping ! :

And with the corners :

Oh, and last but not least, the question of the day... Should I put some acoustic foam on the back of the baffles?

As you can see on the pictures, I haven't put some now, shoud I do it?

See you soon guys! ;)

Thanks for your compliments, and for your job offer LelandCrooks.

But for this offer, I'm not sure it's a good idea : If I'm paid per cab done, I won't earn many money, and If you pay me per hour, that's gonna be your ruin...

Anyway, any tip about putting acoustic foam on the back of the baffles?

Can't hurt, but not required. Damping in a guitar cab is something you can play with and really hear the results quickly. With the easy accessibility through the back I'd just start adding and subtracting until it sounds the way you like.
