I might just make them anyway. It won't be much work and I think it will look better.

SERIOUSLY impressed with your work man. I have 2 THT's that I wanna replace with LP ones (I know I have a sickness).... I like the idea of making them into pillars like you did

what wood did you use though??? I would use baltic birch but it only comes in 5x5 sheets and this sucker is 6 feet long

i used 1/2" Arauco plywood. not sure where your located, but these are actually for sale in the Southeast MI area.

I know this thread is 4 years old, but It is similar to what I want to do with my build. I was wondering if anyone had ever taken this a step further and attached the Cab to the wall and added something like this to the edges where it meets the wall? Would there be any drawbacks to doing this?

I would want to make sure that the low freqs generated will not cause the cab or trim to vibrate against something else. Oh, and, no, I don't mean the cab panels vibrating from within.
