Day 15-17:

This was our attempt to finish the build off.. once again we were overly optimistic! These things just take longer than one would imagine, I had hoped that 3 solid days building would see another cab fully complete with the final 2 cabs nearing 2nd side installs, but not to be. We managed to build and complete cab 4 in this time, and had all but the final braces cut for cabs 5 and 6. So theoretically these last 2 cabs should be able to be parallel built in the same amount of time.. :P

Some pictures, not many, but proof of cab 4's existence and current workplace (atop cab 2) :) Standing back and looking at these finished cabs, it's easy to forget how much intricate work went into 'em!

Day 18:

Started cabs 5 and 6 as a parallel build. Definitely time savings to be had doing things this way, and it was nice enjoying the fruits of our labor from the previous builds ie, most panels and braces already cut! We spent the daylight hours on them, and didn't run into any major complications, other than time seeming to disappear in a most inconvenient way. Couple of pics to show progress..

Day 19/20:

Couple of half days over the last week saw the remaining panels and braces installed, drivers mounted, 2nd sides installed and some sanding and finishing work started... nearly done now just a couple more sessions and this build will be all wrapped up! :hyper:

Day 21/22:

These two days were spent preparing the cabs for the duratex phase. As most of you know, it's time consuming stuff! They were both leak tested (both passing with flying colours!). We also decided it was now or never for the V plate, so we got that made up, opting for Bruce Weldy's style of clamping system (thanks Bruce). Pleasantly surprised by how small the T30 V plate is..

Final Day:

With a break in the weather, we went for the finish today. I spent about 4 hours painting the two cabs (Bill, I wanna know how you can do 'em in 15 minutes!), plus the V plate. My brother got a start on the first 2 Otops during that time. Once the cabs were painted up and dry to the touch, we put the corners and castors on, and the final task, screwing down the access covers! The smile on my brothers face pretty much sums it up :) And so comes to a close our ten month T30 project (23 days in total build time, just shy of 4 days per cab), and I gotta say, it's a good feeling to be finished with these! :hyper: It may be a while before we have all 6 together for a photo, but when it happens I'll be sure to put up the pics!
