I do acoustic shows outside with my guitar and a stompbox for a kick. I am walking a tightrope between volume and easy transport. (And budget) Where would I get my best bang for the buck? Crowd size ranges from 100 to 500.
Configuration 1:
4 OTops

Configuration 2:
2 OTops
2 Tuba 30s

Configuration 3:
2 DR280's

I can't see you needing subs.

Certainly not Tuba 30s - you have no content that needs to go that low. Titan 39s are your best bet. Not as low, but louder.

2-4 OTops
2 T39

That would let you scale to the size of the crowd.

Is this all you will ever do with your system? If yes, Jack 10 or 12 is fine. If you want to play pre-recorded music through them, especially Country, Pop, RnB, Hip-hop, even modern Christian music, then OTop 12 and T39s.

Thank you for your replies! Very helpful info. I have ordered my Jack plans and plan to build 4 of them. I'm thinking of building 2 with CD's and 2 with Piezos. I plan to start tomorrow morning and will post pics barring I'm successful. LOL My drummer has built 2 DR280s for our full band rig along with 4 Titan 48s. Absolute unreal quality! So I'm excited to see how these turn out!
