Re: DR250 stealth grill
Thank you, that's praise of the highest order gentlemen.
The grill was made to pressure fit in a 1/4" deep groove along the arrays length. That groove was created with a full length 1/8" thick strip glued to the array flange, 1/4" less width than the array flange width. It makes a perfectly tight fit, no hardware.

Re: DR250 stealth grill
Very nice look - so if I am following your description, the array sort of hangs over 1/8" creating a groove, and the grill has folded edges?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: DR250 stealth grill
Yes the grill is folded at the edges to fit inside, however to be clear the array flange itself is what has an additional 1/8" thick top to bottom strip glued to it, 1/4 less wide than the flange and that's what creates the groove.Mark Coward wrote: the array sort of hangs over 1/8" creating a groove, and the grill has folded edges?

Perhaps a real close up shot may explain all...Drey Chennells wrote:Yes the grill is folded at the edges to fit inside, however to be clear the array flange itself is what has an additional 1/8" thick top to bottom strip glued to it, 1/4 less wide than the flange and that's what creates the groove.Mark Coward wrote: the array sort of hangs over 1/8" creating a groove, and the grill has folded edges?

Re: DR250 stealth grill
I'll see if I have any better than the above construction pic, in it you may be able to spot the groove created by the strip.

Re: DR250 stealth grill
I think I understand now, the groove is the 90º corner, 1/8" x 1/4" ? The grill edges butt into this, is there like a double bend on the edges? Looks like it would pop out otherwise, though the pointy metal cut edge may prevent it.Drey Chennells wrote:I'll see if I have any better than the above construction pic, in it you may be able to spot the groove created by the strip.

Re: DR250 stealth grill
The tension of the curve holds the edges tightly in place. This 8mm hole grill takes a good flat edge off a grinder and no doubled over edge is needed.Mark Coward wrote:I think I understand now, the groove is the 90º corner, 1/8" x 1/4" ? Re: DR250 stealth grill
If you "view" the raw-wood picture, then hold the "control" key as you hit the "plus" sign several times, you can see that the sheath is spaced out thus creating a groove. As you look at that, compare it to #8 of 14 Facebook pictures to get the idea.

UnF%^%$^$ingbelievable! Holding CTRL and rotating the middle mouse wheel magnifies and also diminishes. I never knew that.Tom Smit wrote:If you "view" the raw-wood picture, then hold the "control" key as you hit the "plus" sign several times,.
