Lot's of good information there. My dad subscribed to Popular Electronics when he was a teen in the 50's and kept his subscription until the late 1980's.
I started reading the earliest issues when I was 13, and subsequently read every issue up until dad discontinued his subscription. That was the real heyday era in electronics. I built many of the projects as a kid too.
When I went to college studying electronics, I knew more about tube technology than the instructors!
