dcx2496 shelving filter

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

dcx2496 shelving filter

#1 Post by laits »

I would like to put a -12dB/oct filter at 75hz on my t39 to flatten it out. I thought this would be straight forward on the dcx2496, but it makes me put in a gain to start. I want it to start the slope at 0dB and go down from there. Anyone know how to do this?

You can only have one lpf per band pass. You could try a PEQ filter centered at 90Hz 0.5 octaves wide, (q of 2.9). Reduce gain by 6db, see how it works. Alter frequency, gain, and bandwidth until you have the desired result. Combined with your 90-100Hz LR lpf at 24-48db, you should be able to get where you want to be.
99% of the time, things that aren't already being done aren't being done because they don't work. The other 1% is split evenly between fools and geniuses.
