Anyone Have a basic EQ start for OT12's with NSD2005's?

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Anyone Have a basic EQ start for OT12's with NSD2005's?

#1 Post by daveode »

Hey all,

I recently built 2 OT12's with Delta pros and NSD2005's and 2 27" wideT39's with lab 12's. I'm using a DRPX for eq and limiting. I tried eqing it in my yard which is wide open but it looks wrong. They seem very "forward" in the 4-8k area. I did lower it a bit but now I question the eqing.

Does anyone have a base start chart for the OT12's with Delta pros and NSD2005's for a driverack EQ? It's way too cold to do it now.

BTW, These cabinets are amazing!! I hit 116db outside with a 60hz test tone 40ft. away!!

Your PAA will tell you what corrections to apply.

Thanks Bill, I understand that. but it's so cold outside that I was hoping that someone had a cart made up!

Is there a certain distance to do the analyzing? and a certain level the pink noise should be generated at? all these things change the response. the response my drive rack came up with doesn't mirror correspond with the response chart posted. It actually boosted from 5-20k like 6-8db and 2.5k like 6db. I know this isn't correct.

Two things.
The van could cause a false reading.
Test the noise floor of the area before adding pink noise. From what I understand, the pink noise should be at least 3db above said noise floor (turn up the volume to achieve this).

The van was just in the photo. I moved it before I did the testing. Sorry for that mix up.
