EQ on EQ

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

EQ on EQ

#1 Post by subharmonic »

Just wanted to drop a line and see if this is an issue with anyone else. When I program my XTi amps with a reverse EQ from the SPL charts, then auto-Q a room with my Drive Rack....in particular the DR250 woofers make some funky sounds and overall the sound is good but not stellar. I have heard of this issue with REW and trying to make a super flat line on a sub. I have since dropped the EQ section out of the amp and let the Driverack do its thing, the sound is great when I am done. Maybe another level of awesome is missing but I can't complain about the sound.

The more EQ that is used creates phase shift in the audio, especially when adjacent filters are set so one is boost, and the next one is cut.
