Sombody Help! Capacitors for DR250

EQ guys are using on their cabs/systems. A good starting place if you don't have your own RTA.

Sombody Help! Capacitors for DR250

#1 Post by cave »

Finding 250v 20uf where I am is a hell. The closest i have come is 250v 15uf. Will this pass for the compressing driver filter? What would the side effects be if any. I'm desperate to complete the wiring by this evening.

Are you able to get two 10uF caps, instead? Or one 15uF and one 5 uF?

I live in Ghana in West Africa. I was told by the vendor that he has the 10uf. How do I use that?

I have the 20uf capacitor wired in series to my compression drives. I hear this spike in the compression driver when I switch on the amplifier to my Otop12 Jarrays. What could this be, and is it normal?

You'll still hear the turn on thump of the amplifier, but the capacitor filters out much of the low frequency content, so it results in more of a high frequency pop. Most newer amplifiers mute the output until the amp stabilizes during power up.
