Hello from England

#1 Post by adrianw »

Recently discovered the sonic benefit of subwoofers with a Rythmik F12SE subwoofer, but want to build something better and louder. Done a lot of research and I think that a dual driver (push-pull) sub like an M&K is what I need. Hence joined the forum to get some ideas for suitable drivers and maybe cabinet.

Welcome!

Sorry to say, but you won't find any push-pull designs here....

Now that you have discovered the wonderful world of subwoofers, you will be pleased to know that horns are the way to do it right. Whether you are working toward a formidable home theatre or lean to the pro-sound side of the fence, the performance curves of the horns offered here have little equal in the entire industry. These are fully engineered around the specified drivers and require only the following of the plans.

You will find very knowledgeable members here who will help you out.
BFM rig:
6 OT12
4 T48
4 WH8
Other:
56 box Electrotec LabQ rig
Way too many cables

T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

You could waste money outfitting a single cab with 2 long extension drivers or you could just build a THT and never worry ever again about output. Hell, build two, go crazy. You'll still end up with cabs that cost less and go far louder and lower...

I mean this is an extreme example but
