You'll run out of sub before you run out of tops with that combo. Personally, I like the form factor of the OT12 better - the DR bottom and top are angled, making for a harder job of pole mounting more than one and having to use an adjustable tophat even with one. That coupled with the harder build makes the OT12 work better for me.

If I was doing a permanent install or had the proper rigging, then DRs would be what I'd do. For smaller gigs (up to 500 or so outside), a pair of OT12s on each side do quite well....and they really shine in the mids when you stack two of 'em.
