Show off your jigs!

#1 Post by Bas Gooiker »

Following your build threads i've seen a lot of people using all kinds of clever "diy" jigs to easy up the build process. Using the search function of the site gives a whopping 945  results in just as many different build threads. Maybe its a good idea to get them all in one place. I am curious to see your favorite ones.

You should start Bas, show us your jigs :)

Here's one of my favorites, the simple router circle jig. I make all my baffle cutouts with this one.

Cutting angles over 45 degrees on the table saw. Screwed on top of Bill's panel cutting jig. Cutting 60 degrees here.

Piezo test jig. One known good piezo, cup to hold an unknown piezo, compare response and phase. Connect to a transistor radio tuned between stations to feed noise.

Piezo array glue jig. Use with wax paper.

I'm also fond of the W-clamp jigs, have no pics of those though.

My SLA template gives hole centers. Just drill through into the baffle.

I made it the exact size of the baffle and wrote all the measurements / some notes on the template so I don't have to work everything out again in the future. This way I can easily create a variation on this theme.

I enjoy a little tipple while woodworking, especially at a milestone 8) but I stay off the table saw or anything that could take a chunk of me off once i have had a drink!!

Sooo much good wine here in CA.

Oh, and I routed the WH8 logo in my other Wedgehorn, the one I bought from DJPhatman long ago. It is the old model, can still hardly believe the new model is yet a better vocal monitor.

The template jig.

I will apply a fresh coat of Warnex to the entire cab, then I will have two identical wedges. Here's the other wedge.
