I need to work on my internet search skills! I searched high and low for a UK supplier a few months ago and found nothing! I also didn't realise how big the tubes are. I bought two and now i need a bigger gun and i've got enough PL to build a bungalow :wall:

True, but £1.95 for delivery isn't bad.

Toolstaion do an equivalent to PL at £5.97

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Adhesiv ... 198/p78519

A similar product at Screwfix at £7.79

http://www.screwfix.com/p/evostik-polyu ... 10ml/40778

Selco stock 12mm ply cheap (about £17 + VAT for an 8'x4') but the last sheet I bought had a very thin face veneer and lots of delaminations plus it warped dramatically. Just about useable but a lot of extra gluing and cramping needed.

"Proper" timber suppliers sometimes have offcuts of decent board cheap.

Bison and Pattex make polyurethane glues that are probably available in the UK as well. Not as cheap as PL, but that goes for most things pro-audio anyway in Europe as compared to the US. I now know we do have cheaper health insurance :owned:

Rather than attempting to resussitate a goldfish floating upside down, why not just go buy a new one?

@ Timpbizkit:

I found a 3mm and 6mm thick birch plywood (for Jack12 lites) supplier local to my work, by doing some internet searching and phoning round. That supplier is in Swinton, Manchester. I believe you are in mid-Wales. Can you be more specific on location? What plywood do you need? Being uk-based I'm happy to try and aid in your search to locate plywood.

I have tried the 5min PL type glue and would rather stick with the 1hr to 3 hr stuff. The 5 min stuff didn't save me any real time at all over the entire build and in fact when I cocked up, it cost me.

Planning well ahead makes for faster time than faster glues do.

I am trying to find 12mm birch or arauco. Just anything which isn't the crappy stuff I built my Autotuba with.

I'm off to Boys and Boden tomorrow to see what the other ply they did was and is it any good. I got some drawing board sized offcuts of good stuff which I built Omni mid-horns and a car speaker box from.

It must be solid all the way through and 5 plies or more. I found 12mm birch at 40 a sheet online. Is that a good price?
.
I think 40 quid a sheet is a good price if transport works out. Your location is out of the way, UK speaking. I paid 25 odd + vat for 8x4 of 6mm, and £10 odd + vat for a 5x5 of 3mm. I picked them up locally myself, but the 3mm sheet was brought down from preston to the swinton branch. Nothing worth doing is straightforward, be it negotiating plywood supply or the BF forum, but keep the main thing the main thing and it will work out. ;-)
