Order was one box of the PL premium, minimum order; pretty poor service if you ask me.
It's typical that they'll have a minimum order, perhaps a dozen boxes, so they have to wait until enough people place orders with them before they will place an order with their supplier. IME if they don't have it in stock don't bother ordering, look elsewhere.

Hence the reason for this thread. Budget group are the only source in Australia AFAIK who "stock" PL premium.

You might like to contact loctite Australia:
http://www.loctite.com.au/loctite-Austr ... ealand.htm

And see if PL premium is available anywhere else here, including Adelaide.

If you find other sources by doing that, please list them in this thread...
Built:
DR 250: x 2 melded array, 2x CD horn, March 2012 plans.
T39's: 4 x 20" KL3010LF , 2 x 28" 3012LF.
WH8: x 6 with melded array wired series/parallel.
Bunter's Audio and Lighting "like"s would be most appreciated...

I have not tried either Locktite PL or Selleys Liquid Nails Platinum, but I have used Selleys Aquadhere Durabond:

The pictures below show its runniness, fizziness and what cured squeezeout looks like.
It sands perfectly.

That looks like what's called Gorilla Glue here, and it's nothing like PL. PL is very thick, applied with a caulking gun, and resembles the consistency of caulk. I've tried Gorilla Glue, PL is far superior.

Fair enough. While I have no concerns about joint strength if correctly applied, the runniness makes is suitable for applying to horizontal surfaces only.

Make that 'perfectly level horizontal surfaces only'.

Yes, but I think this belongs in its own thread: "Oven paper, an essential prerequisite"

Harley, since you have been using Sika products, do you think Sikaflex 221 can do the job to build any of the BFM designs?
How about Bostik the 'sausage like' PU adhessive ?

The crucial part is that it expands while curing, this probably doesn't.

Heads up.
Budgetgroup is no longer supplying PL premium.
Forum member Chamesy has discovered another source though (thanks mate).

Wow this thread is heated haha.

Unfortunately PL Premium is not available by the tube AT ALL anymore only by the pallet load to industrial customers through special order, the folks at http://www.abcadhesives.com.au/adhesive never got back to me and I contacted www.henkel.com.au the distributors of Loctite to Australia and New Zealand and this was their reply:

Unfortunately, since the closure of Masters the availability of Loctite PL premium went from readily available to brought in by special order only.

So now it is only brought in by the pallet load for industrial customer. There is no one selling it by the tube.

OUCH!

So if we want to get stuff locally now we are going to have to find a worthy alternative
PEACE

I called Chris at abcadhesives.
He's confirmed the above.

He recommends Unobond as a replacement. Or get PL in from the USA...

Well I just ordered a box from Amazon US. Then it came to my door a couple of weeks later.
