Testing for rattles
Testing for rattles
Is the best way to run test tones at different frequencies and fix what's making the noise?

Re: Testing for rattles
That is exactly how I do it. Turns out after I tested my T-60's that the rattles weren't coming from the subs but rather from the entire stage!
I took a trick out of the plans and am currently installing braces "no more than 8" apart" on the whole 20' x 7' main stage and already did three 4' x 8' risers. I even used PL on everything too!
I'm almost done however I found a whole bunch more rattles coming from the ceiling panels! I might be at this for awhile.
If you are only concerned about the speakers, then I use the same tone sweeps/listen/fix technique for those too.

OK! I bet using the tone sweep finds lots of stuff to tighten up!
I found a free iPhone Tone Generator app that I'll be using. Just don't use it to annoy those around you!
