Titan 48 and Jack 15 combination for PA, 4 W8

#1 Post by Middelkevin »

Last weekend I had my fist gig with my BFM system, I was mixing a band that I often mix.
Normally I use 2 DAP Clubmate 2 sets, The price/quality is amazing for such a set.

On this gig I used 2 titan 48's in combination with two Jack 15's.
Jack 15 specs:
Mid driver: 1x Eminence 3015
High driver: 2x Eminence ASD1001

Titan 48 specs:
Low driver: 1x Eminence 3015LF 36'' wide
To power them I used my Electro voice amp rack, for the subs I use a EV Q1212 and for the mids I use a EV Q99, for the compression driver I use a EV Q66.
I also ran 4 W8's on stage on two other EV Q66 amps.
Today I ordered 20 sheets of birch because I'm going to build 6 Titan's 48 and 12 otop jArray 12's for a big outdoor festival in my hometown.

Last weekend was an outdoor gig, there were approximately 500 people and I pushed the system almost 60% until I touched the limiter.
There was a deep kick and bass from the band and everything sounded very clear.
I think there isn't a system that can touch this quality for the price I can make a BFM system.
To crossover the subs and the mains I used a DBX PA2, here are some HPF and LPF settings:

Titan 48: HPF 40Hz LPF 100Hz
Jack 15 mid: HPF 100Hz LPF 2500Hz
Jack 15 High: HPF 2500Hz LPF 2000Hz

When I arrived at the festival terrain (grass field) I set up the system and ran a RTA.
The mains were flying on the front truss and the subs were stacked and V-plated in the middle of the 120cm high stage.
I had een freelancer work on monitors and this is what he say's:
I've worked with the best materials like Meyer and L'Accoustics, I think sound wise these come really close, maybe even better.

He was mixing the monitors on a Crest Century LM32 analog mixing console.
I was mixing the band FOH on my new mixer, a Midas m32.
Everything sounded so clear and powerful, I'm looking forward to do the next festival next weekend.
It's such a powerful system, I can't imagine how 8x Titan 48 in combination with 12 Otop Jarray would sound!
I will post some pictures from the next gig because I didn't make any pictures last weekend.
