With a diameter of 55mm on the mounting tube, that's a bit large for a speaker stand, but it certainly is the idea...David Raehn wrote:http://www.standsandmounts.com/CA8HDHea ... Black.aspx

That's the OD. It looks like it's designed for 1.5" schedule 40 steel pipe, which is ~1.9" (48mm).
Of course, it's upside down here in the States.....

A thing I know: NPT=National Pipe Thread. So it's to fit black or galvanized 1&1/2" threaded pipe. That gets you close enough to adapt to speaker stand diameter with creativity.Grant Bunter wrote:With a diameter of 55mm on the mounting tube, that's a bit large for a speaker stand, but it certainly is the idea...David Raehn wrote:http://www.standsandmounts.com/CA8HDHea ... Re: All 6 Dr250's
Understood guys.
What I'm trying to say is ID of a standard top hat is designed to accept a standard 1 3/8" or 35mm OD speaker stand...

The linked adapter is for hanging loads from a ceiling, not the top of a stand.heavybdrums wrote:ty so much for the link David. I looked and maybe didn't search the right words.David Raehn wrote:http://www.standsandmounts.com/CA8HDHea ... Black.aspx

Re: All 6 Dr250's
yea I saw that this was the case. That or something like it would probably work the same way.DJPhatman wrote:The linked adapter is for hanging loads from a ceiling, not the top of a stand.heavybdrums wrote:ty so much for the link David. If it can handle 500 lbs hanging(tension), it should be fine sitting (compression).

Re: All 6 Dr250's
Sorry, David, but not so true. The hanging tension is static, not swinging as using the linked device would put moving pressures where the device is not designed to handle them. I would suggest writing/emailing them before ordering to verify. I will ALWAYS recommend to err on the side of caution when using or making things to work out of the normal safety zones.David Raehn wrote:If it can handle 500 lbs hanging(tension), it should be fine sitting (compression).
If it were me, I would buy a pair of the 6' tall scaffolding from Lowe's or Home Depot.

Re: All 6 Dr250's
In all honesty, more than one cab on one stand scares the CRAP out of me, that's why I designed and conctructed my own solution for my OT12s. For more than two cabs per side, I plan on ground-stacking them on aluminum scaffold planks on standard scaffold. These are rated for 75 lbs dynamic per square foot.
