Outdoor table tuba

#1 Post by will_b_intouch »

The outdoor table tuba project is complete. Wish I had taken more pics during the process ....

The idea was to add some bottom end for the Klipsch outdoor speakers that cover the patio area. In order to get the spousal approval rating up, I added a drawer unit to sit on top with a granite slab. So it serves as a food prep/serving area.

Oh, and it sounds amazing. Single 10" Dayton Audio DCS255-4 speaker. Used a plate amp from an HT sub that was given to me. I had another one but the lowest cut was 80 Hz and that was too high. The sub droned a bit too much. The second plate amp is set at about 60 Hz and it sounds great. Playing Lorde's "Royals" is my favorite way of showing it off.

One final step is required to add a grille in the opening to keep critters out. It is covered with Beauti-tone Flexrock stone paint (Gunite color) and hi gloss sealer to weather proof it.

May not be the perfect placement but it works great ....

In progress:
2 x DR250 2510/asd1001
For best results, point the loud end of the array towards the audience
