He's got photos of the rack on facebook and it's genuinely hilarious how tiny it is to run all that kit.

How does the SLA-Pro compare tonally to the Otop 12, and do you find you need to EQ it differently?
Hi Boyd

Thanks for the kind words  .

Regarding your centre fill question, most people would recommend the OT12. I tried both and due to most of the shows I do, the crowds stand right up against the stage ramps and with the T48's under the stage, I found the SLA-Pro worked better (overall the system felt fuller and tighter to my ears being that close up to the cabs). When I built the SLA I added an extra section to the back of the box and added a plate amp to it, it has a HPF of 100hz built in too. I run it off a separate output on my DCX crossover and also through one of my DEQ's to fine tune the EQ a bit. Strangely enough the SLA's RTA EQ is pretty flat but when I tried the OT12 as centre fill it's RTA graph was all over the place.

hi there pulseman is there any chance you could post a photo of your deq settings for your main stacks and also what procedure you use for setting eq at your various gigs....regards..Frank leamy

Hi all

Three years now that I'm using this BFM setup and all is still "Super Duper". :hyper: :hyper:

Every year I keep getting the same contracts over and over and more. :cowboy:

Anybody still indecisive about building a BFM rig, DO IT you won't be sorry.

Once again thanks to Bill for his designs and to all the forum members who have contributed with advice and +1's over the years.

God Bless

Jose

Hi guys, I am currently building a rig just like Pulseman's and I must say I'm really encouraged. I had to suspend building 8 DR250s which I'll continue after finishing the OTops 12 jarrays. Thanks Pulseman you are a worthy ambassador.

Hey PulseMan

Long time, you've been quiet lately, hows things going with you and your setup?

Really miss your posts and pictures, as BFM rigs are almost non existent here in Portugal and Spain areas  .

I really look for inspiration from you as I have a similar combination as you just less cabs

Do you still use the Synq amps?

Cause we had some trouble with them resulting in 6 blown drivers before we figured out it was the synq. It was hard to find cause the drivers blown all on the last hourof a gig of 10 or 16 hours. But during the last one I was monitoring the outputs with my engineer and all of a sudden without any indication or reason it went into clip and protection and blammo Silence from the subs. it was a real big WTF? moment. Never touched them again, and no more blown sub drivers.

Hi sorry for late reply, pretty busy at the moment.
Anyway, yes still use them and no issues thus far.
I know the very first batch of 3K6's had a module issue which they did rectify some time back.
Touch wood mine are stable and have worked pretty hard.

A question about your synq amps.
Normaly the 'clip' led will light when the amp is clipping, only that is not the case with these amps is it?

If I run some subs on my 2k2 amp at a certain volume the clip led will light, only not the clip limiter light.
So the amp isn't clipping am I correct?
Do these clip lights light up when you're pushing them?

It should be the DCX that is clipping (well, limiting) the signal, not the amps. The amps should never clip (unless the amps are underpowered (or running off a weak power supply)).
